Love Opens the Gate

“For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”  Matthew 7:14

Gate

Today I finally took a closer look at this ancient Hebrew, metaphorical, gate.  How can I be so sure this is another physical symbolism representing a spiritual Truth?  Because it has been written;  “We know that the law is spiritual,” Romans 7:14.  The Hebrews knew that Torah, God’s Word, was spiritual because nothing physical lasts forever.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”  Isaiah 40:8

“Your Word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.”  Psalm 119:89

The Torah and the Prophets are often referred to in English by the word law, but the meaning of this one word is God’s original teaching or instruction given to Moses and the prophets.  Torah is also referred to as Scripture, Statutes, Precepts, Righteous Judgments, Commandments, The Way of Truth, The Light that directs our paths, the Way that leads to (lasting) Life.

Y’shuah claimed to be that Light in the flesh,  John 8:12.

“You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,”  John 5:39

The Light

This term Light is another spiritual metaphor referring to Truth or the straight path, Luke 2:32Isaiah 49:6 Isaiah 51:4 ; Proverbs 2:13 .  Torah was to be a Light to the nations meaning, all peoples of the earth.  Ephesians 5:9  “for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),”

Y’shuah also summed up all the instructions of the Torah and prophets in one simple phrase:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”  Matthew 7:12

God’s instructions were never annulled or out -dated by Y’shuah.  On the contrary, the law was revealed even more clearly to us by His humble and merciful example of what it looks like to love others above our human ability, the way He loved us.  Leviticus 19:181 John 3:16

This kind of Love exceeds God’s commandments, going above and beyond what is required.

Love is the Gate

Behold, I stand at the door (gate) and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door (gate) I will come in… Revelation 3:20.  The Greek word for door is Thura and is also used in John 10:3 as gate.  Shaar is the Hebrew word.

Supernatural Love opens the metaphorical gate.

It can be opened and closed, the gate is a separation between what is outside and what is inside.

Now we open our spiritual eyes and ears, our spiritual perception, and prayerfully meditate on entering this gate.

The key is thanksgiving.  A grateful heart is a heart filled with the knowledge of God’s Love. Unfailing, Impartial and never condemning or fault finding when we turn to Him wholeheartedly!! James 1:5Jeremiah 29:13.

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.”  Psalm 100:4

Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to YHVH.  Psalm 118:19

Loving praises come from the heart of those who know and acknowledge the Creator’s Name, meaning His Character.

Through Him (God’s Word) then let us continually (from one point of time to the next) offer up a sacrifice ( the thing that draws us near) of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his Name (His attributes).  Hebrews 13:15

There is a lot of info. packed into that verse, please read it over slowly and let it digest before skimming the following praise verses.

Yadah is the Hebrew word for praise and it simply means to give thanks.

The following Psalms are, the cream of the crop of praises, written by someone who really knew how to praise YHVH.
