Who Abolished the Seven Feasts of YHVH?

Who Abolished The Seven Feasts?
Menorah Feast days

Y’shua didn’t abolish the seven feasts of YHVH, Matthew 5:17.   On the contrary He said, “until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Torah until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:25Psalm 111:8Psalm 119:89Isaiah 40:8.

So when and why did they disappear from the teachings of Christianity?  Y’shua even instructed His followers to, do this in remembrance of Me,  Luke 22:19, the eve before Passover.

Passover is the First Feast of the Seven.  It was called Passover because the angel of death passed over every home in in Egypt that obediently placed the blood of a lamb on its doorposts.  That same night began the first day, of the seven day Feast of Unleavened Bread.  On the Third day was the Feast of First Fruits, which began the 49 day count down until The Feast of Weeks.

Most of us are not familiar with these first four Feast days, even though Y’shua fulfilled each one at YHVH’s pre-appointed time.

Can we blame translation for the reason most Christians don’t even know about YHVH’s Seven Feast days?

Translations certainly have caused more than a little confusion.  Communion and the Last Supper replaced the Passover Covenant Meal and Unleavened Bread.  Easter replaced the Third day of First Fruits, and now we call the Feast of Weeks, Pentecost.

As you can see, there’s a little more to blame than translation.  The original names of YHVH’s Feast days were taken away and man’s were added. Beginning with pope Victor in 196 A.D. all YHVH’s appointed days, including Sabbath, were changed and declared the new law at the council of Ncacea, 325 A.D.

Exposing The False Prophets

No True Prophet would ever add or take away from YHVH’s instructions,  Deuteronomy 4:2;  Revelation 22:18.

Whatever I (YHVH) instruct you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it. Deuteronomy 12:32

True Prophets are those who speak in the Name (Who He Is) of YHVH, James 5:10.  This makes False prophets easy to detect. They will be the ones enticing you away from YHVH’s Unchanging Torah instructions, Deuteronomy 13:1-5.

The Hebrew word, Torah, has a deep and beautiful meaning that can’t help but be lost in translation.  It’s “The Way,” “the Light,” of “Truth,” shining in the darkness, directing us to the path that leads to Life.  Like a loving Father, YHVH’s instructions are good, freeing us from our adversary, “that it may be well with you,” Jeremiah 7:23

YHVH’s Words are Truth, Life giving and Lasting, Deuteronomy 32:47Acts 7:38.  They do not grow “Old” or expire.  The original Hebrew acronym, TaNaKh is a perfect description for the Torah (Teachings), Nevi’im, (Prophets) and Ketuvim, (Writings).  Wasn’t the choice of translating as the “Old” Testament and referring to it as the “Law” a bit misleading?

The TaNaKh was the only Scripture every 1st Century A.D. writer was referring to in the New Testament.  These New writings had not officially been compiled as Divine Scripture, (canonized), it was a process that took centuries.

The Living Torah

Y’shua is Torah, and The Torah became flesh and lived among us, John 1:1John 1:14

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; (Torah), no one comes to the Father (YHVH) but through Me.” John 14:6

If you are able to comprehend Y’shua being Torah, then you may be able to wrap your mind around the fulfillment of four of the seven feast days. When Torah became flesh, cutting covenant with His own, Life giving, blood, at the pre-appointed time the Passover lamb was slain.  He was buried at the pre-appointed day of Unleavened Bread, and resurrected to New Life at the pre-appointed time of the third day of First-fruits.

He then ascending into heaven in order to baptize the faithful ones with His Living Spirit at the pre-appointed time of the Feast of Weeks, John 1:33

All this happened at YHVH’s pre-appointed times and days, set from the fourth day of creation, Genesis 1:14

Without knowing about or remembering these feast days it is difficult to see the (Spiritual) mystery of the Good News that is laid out in Torah, Luke 24:27.

What About the Other Three Appointed Feast Days?

There are three Fall Feast days that we are still awaiting. Yet the majority still remains confused by the translations that say the Law has been made void, while others clearly state the Law is not void, Romans 3:31.

If Y’shua and Every First Century Believer Remembered these Feasts,  Luke 22:19, why would we be okay with the fact that some false prophets abolished them?

Even if we or an angel from heaven tries to distort the Good News, let them be accursedGalatians 1:8

This Good News isn’t new.  It wasn’t YHVH’s afterthought or a plan B.  Mankind’s hope of an eventual victory over the serpent was promised in Genesis 3:15.  Our Creator is all knowing.  His Way back to Life or Torah existed even before it was given in writing to Moses over 3,000 years ago.

The Last Three Fall Feasts

Leviticus 23:24, The Feast of Trumpets (shofars) or Yom Teruah, a celebration, making a loud blast.  The first day of the seventh month.

Leviticus 23:27Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur, the only feast that requires fasting. The tenth day of the Seventh month..

Leviticus 23:34, The Feast of Booths or Sukkot, sleeping and eating outside in a flimsy booth for seven days.  The fifteenth day of the Seventh Lunar month.

As Y’shua’s followers around the world await the day of His return, Judgement Day and The day The King of kings will reign on the New earth,  wouldn’t it benefit His people to know and remember His appointed Feast days?

“THE WORD OF YHVH ENDURES FOREVER.” And this is the Word which was preached to you.1 Peter 1:25; .Psalm 119:89; Psalm 119:152.

A Letter to my Granddaughter

Dear precious Granddaughter,

May you represent the last generation of those who did not test every teaching to see whether it was true or false.

In light of the questions you may be struggling with when someone you know dies; What is True, who is God, what is hell, where do bad people go when they die, who is the devil and who are His angels?

Truth can withstand scrutiny; it is as unchanging as gravity and does not vary to the left or to the right but hangs as straight as a plum line.  We have been instructed to test everything we believe by holding it up to YHVH’s, (Yah for short) plum line of Truth.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from Yah, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

In the beginning of our Spiritual growth we are like babies, we need spiritual milk and depend on the guidance and encouragement from other people.  As we mature Spiritually, by time spent in prayer, we learn to depend more on The Spirit of Wisdom and Truth,  John 14:261 John 2:27Jeremiah 31:34.

The Spirit of Truth is implanted within every heart and those who humbly and devotedly seek it are promised to find it. James 1:21,  1 John 4:1; Deuteronomy 4:29:  Jeremiah 29:13

I hope you can find a globe or a map of the world to examine for awhile.  Have you ever wondered why we believe what we believe?  Imagine if you had been born in a different part of the world?  Depending on our cultural and family influences, we develop our own private logic..  I am going to ask you to try your best to be aware of your private logic, some of it may be sub-conscious, then push it aside while we explore some of these little known discoveries.

Our Western Hellenized Cultural Translations vs an Original Eastern Text

The original Eastern Hebrew and Aramaic of the Bible, most importantly the Torah and Prophets, contain idioms, phrases, word structures, terms and poetic patterns, common at that time and to that region.  These meanings did not translate precisely into 4th century BC, Greek and later into 4th Century AD Latin.  Because most of the British English translations originated from these translations we have unknowingly incorporated a Westernized, Hellenized, Greek and Roman influence.

This mix is called syncretism and I want you to learn to test every teaching, that exist in world religions of today, to see how much has been added, changed and taken away since the time of Y’shuah, Jesus. Proverbs 30:6Deuteronomy 4:2Deuteronomy 12:32Revelation 22:18.

“These were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” Acts 17:11

Here is the original Hebrew and then the added or lost meaning that occurred in translation:

Who is God?

1. YHVH-LORD.  YHVH is the only Name our Creator referred to as His Name forever, Exodus 3:15.  It means, I Am Who I Am, He was, is and always will be, or He Exists.  It was replaced by the capital LORD over 6,800 times, not including the New Testament.

The term God was used to describe all pagan deities in Greek.  Later Teutonic mythology adopted the same word god, referring to all pagan gods and the Creator God alike.

What is Hell?

2.  Sheol-Place of the dead or grave.  There is no teaching of a place called Hell or Hell fire in Hebrew.  This concept did not exist until the Greek translation Hades replaced the Hebrew word Sheol.  Along with Hades came the pagan mythology attached to the god of the underworld with the flesh burning punishment of the wicked in the eternal inferno..

What is the original definition of wicked and evil?

 3.  Ra-Every bad thing, this includes adversity, calamity, stumbling block, obstacle; but does not define wickedness, although most often translated into English as evil.

Who or What is the Devil?

4.  Yetzer Hara- The evil or bad inclination within everyone.  Most often translated Devil, the word evil with the letter D. The term Demons does not exist in the original Hebrew.  Check New Testament phrases like, “He casts out demons,” in Hebrew it would be interpreted, “He restores sanity.”  The phrase Yetzer Hara contains the word Ra, simply meaning the bad inclinations.

“The One (YHVH) forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being (Tov) and creating calamity (Ra); I am the LORD YHVH who does all these.”  Isaiah 45:7

Who are the Angels?

4.  Malak-Messenger of YHVH, translated angel.  All angels or messengers are of YHVH do His will and in complete obedience to Him, not opposing Him.  Angels are sent for testing, disciplining, guiding, guarding, protecting, destroying etc….Isaiah 37:36;1 Chronicles 21:15Galatians 1:8.

Origin of the name Lucifer

5.  Helel-Shining one, translated into Latin as Lucifer. Lucifer was a common name until it became associated with evil. This name means shining one but also carries with it the Roman pagan meaning of Morning star and Son of dawn, see Jupiter and Venus mythology.

Original Hebrew has no teaching of a beautiful choir leading angel named Lucifer.  Although English translations insert Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, the Serpent and the Dragon as the name for this angel, it is an angel of YHVH and under His complete control.

(In complete contrast to the Hebraic view, the Westernized idea of Lucifer is that of an almost equal power to YHVH.  This is the story I grew up believing.  After deceiving a third of the angels into overthrowing their Creator’s heavenly Kingdom these revolting angels were cast to the earth to have a try at deceiving mankind.  Their only goal is revenge, knowing their fate is eternal hell fire. This is the reason they work day and night against YHVH, in order to take as many of us as possible with them,   Isaiah 14:12Revelation 12:9.)

There are a mess of names in the New Testament describing Nachash, the “dragon or serpent called the devil or satan, will be bound for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:2

The Hebraic View of the Serpent, Devil or Satan

6.  Nachash-Serpent.  An external influence or temptation.. The Nachash or Serpent is what we read about in the story of Adam and Eve.  When they ate from the Tree of the knowledge of Ra and Tov and were given knowledge and awareness of bad and good.  Although we now all face these external influences it is first our, internal inclination to do bad, that we battle against.as we learn to overcome,Revelation 3:21.

“Each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust (or inclination to do bad.)” James 1:14

Why does Satan exist?

7.  HaSatanSatan meaning Adversary, not an evil principle opposing YHVH but an adversary for mankind to overcome.  See Ra includes adversity. Romans 12:211 John 4:4Revelation 2:7.

Would it be possible to understand good without bad?  No, becasue we cannot judge something to be good if we cannot compare it to something bad.

If we were never tempted to do the things that we are not supposed to do, then not doing them would be of no value to us.

It is only in coming up against a desire to do what is wrong and overcoming this that we grow spiritually mature.

If there is no resistance to overcome, we have no environment for growth.

By climbing over these obstacles in life, we develop our spiritual muscles, becoming complete, whole, lacking nothing, James 1:4.

In conclusion, I know you will come across many teachers who use the same math to come up with the same answers.  I hope this letter has given you new questions and a new formula for checking Truth.  Seeking the original Hebrew Scriptures for yourself and not being swayed by the opinions or teachings of the world.

“I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:33

“Whoever does not love, (mercy, compassion,) does not know God,Yah, because God, Yah is love.” 1 John 4:8

“For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18

We are here for a purpose that will one day be revealed.  When we take the effort to know YHVH and find that He is Good we can trust Him fully in the midst of all the Ra.  We can overcome every fear, even our worst fear of death. Hebrews 2:15

With all my love, Joy and shalom aleichem,

Grandma K
