The Ambiguous Meaning of Salvation

If you live in the Western world you’ve probably been asked religious questions like, “are you saved?” and “when did you receive your salvation?”  These questions were like grains of irritation to me.  Like grains of sand that had made their way into the meat of an oyster shell, they can eventually become our most beautiful pearls.

It was my lack of understanding that kept me silently frustrated when I heard the phrase, “I’m saved.”  It just didn’t set right that salvation could sound like a box we’d checked off after our first confession, when we said,  “I believe and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior,” before getting baptized.saved

Although I Understand These Are The Biblical Answers to The Question;

“What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

“if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

Salvation Revealed In The Original Hebrew Scriptures

Thanks to the impartial promise of our Creator’s Word, those who seek Him do find Him, Deuteronomy 4:29;   Matthew 7:7.   And these days He even guides us in the search engines of Google.  The day I discovered the Hebrew Lexicon at Biblehub.com, I knew it was an answer to my prayer for greater understanding.

For instance, it helped me realize how word choices, culture and religious bias have their influence on translation.

When there are several English word equivalents, used interchangeably for the same Hebrew word, readers lose their cues to connect that word or phrase in other passages.

All translation require conjecture in order to convey meaning, especially when an ancient expression doesn’t exist or carry over into another language.

Translating means changing, no matter how closely one is able to transfer a meaning and modify word syntax into the readable form of another language.

Today everyone has access to the Hebrew lexicon.  Anyone, who has the desire to know and understand the original Hebrew Scriptures, can begin prayerfully meditating on their Word meanings and making the Spiritual connections that evade translation, Romans 7:14.

YHVH’s (He Exists) is Salvation

The Hebrew word translated into English as Salvation is Yeshuah.  It comes from the root Yasha, the same root in the name Yehoshua, (Jesus) which means, YHVH + Yasha, He Exists is Salvation.

Matthew 1:21

Matthew 1:21

Yasha and its different forms can be translated:  Deliverance, Victory, to Avenge, Preservation, Prosperity, Help, Rescue, Safety, Security, to Save, Salvation…

Salvation Always Was “The Good News”

“May Your Merciful Loving Kindnesses, (Chesed #2617a from Chasad) also come to me, YHVH,(He Exists) Your Salvation, (Teshuah #8668 from Yasha) according to Your Word, (Imrah #559 from Amar).  Psalm 119:41

“How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings Good News, Who announces peace And brings Good News of happiness, Who announces Salvation, And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7Romans 10:15

The Spirit of The Lord YHVH, (HeExists) is upon me, Because YHVH has anointed me To bring good news to the humble/afflicted, (anav #6035); He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty/release, (deror #1865) to captives And freedom to prisoners; Isaiah 61:1

Y’shua, the shortened form of Y’hoshua, explained all that was written about Himself in the Scriptures.  The Scriptures He was referring to were called Moses, (Torah) the Prophets and Writings.  In Hebrew these words form the acronym T.N.K, pronounced, TaNaK.   Today we call The Scriptures, The “Old” Testament.

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all The Scriptures (The Tanak) about Himself.” Luke 24:27

Promised From The Beginning

“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise/overwhelm, (shuph #7779) you on the head, And you shall bruise/overwhelm him on the heel.” Genesis 3:15

Looking at Genesis 3:15 with ancient Hebrew symbolism we see more than the curse or the fate that will come to the serpent, (representing satan, YHVH’s adversary).  This is a prophecy, a promise of what will happen, spoken to the serpent and his seed or offspring, meaning all who are adversary’s of YHVH.

Notice the words, “you,” and “your” are addressing the serpent, (satan).  Their will be enmity, (ebah #342) between your seed, (satan) and the woman and her Seed, (children of YHVH).

“And the dragon, (serpent) was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony, (word) of Jesus, (Salvation)” Revelation 12:17

The Victory Stance!

The Seed of the woman will,  “overwhelm the head of the serpent.” Can you envision this ancient Hebrew idiom of a triumphant king, victoriously standing with his foot on the head of His enemy?

“The God of Peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” Romans 16:20

This symbolism of Victory even carries over into Greek and English!

“YHVH your God is in your midst, A Victorious/Savior, (Yasha #3467) warrior/prevailer, (gibbor #1368).  He will exult over you with joy, He will be silent/rest in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” Zephaniah 3:17

Victory Over Satan Is Salvation

Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Noah, Abraham, Moses and King David, to name a few, all died believing in their Salvation, the promise of the Victorious Seed.

All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised.” Hebrews 11:13

Today we can look back on all the Scriptural prophecies of the promised Seed who would bless All peoples of the earth, Genesis 22:18 and know that Seed is Y’hoshua, (YHVH’s Salvation).

“You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,” John 5:39

Y’hoshua is the Word, John 1:1.  The Word became flesh and dwelt with us, John 1:14.  He overcame every test of satan, victoriously conquering death, He purposely resurrected to lasting Life on the third day of First-Fruits, assuring us the rest of the harvest would also be blessed.  (See The Promise of The Seed Who Would Bless All Nations/People).

Victory over satan, (also known as our evil inclination) has been the true meaning of salvation/release/freedom/victory since Cain was warned that it would master him if he didn’t master it, Genesis 4:7

“Do not be like Cain, who belonged to, (mastered by) the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.” 1 John 3:12.

All people have been separated from the Spirit of their Creator by their iniquitiesRomans 3:23, and All people are in need of Salvation/Life, because Death is separation.

“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”  Isaiah 59:2.

He Brings Salvation At His Second Coming

“so also Christ, (Messiah) was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.” Hebrews 9:28

Dead People Can’t Eat From The Tree Of Life

YHVH, in His Mercy, made sure Adam and Eve did not eat from the Tree of Life in their fallen state and live in death forever.

Then YHVH God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the Tree of Life, and eat, and live forever…” Genesis 3:22,23.

God’s Merciful Compassion makes us alive, (born again) through/in Christ/Messiah, even when we were dead, (separated) in our trespasses/iniquities/sin.  It is by grace/His favor you have been saved, (from sin and death)! Ephesians 2:5; Colossians 2:13; Ephesians 5:14Isaiah 26:19

Righteousness Is The Beautiful Pearl of Salvation

Whether we understand or not, mankind’s freedom from death, (sin) equals New Spiritual Life/Righteousness.  An ancient Hebrew illustration for “New Life,” is a “Clean Robe,”  Our outer covering represent “our actions.”  This is revealed in the following verse:

She, (The Bride) was given clothing of fine linen,” linen bright and pure. For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints/the set apart/holy. Revelation 19:8.

Before our “New Life,” (when we were dead in our sin) and even our righteous actions were like, “Filthy Rags,” Isaiah 64:6;  Zechariah 3:3.

Righteous acts, is the Hebrew word, Tzedakah #6666.  This is the hidden pearl that has always been, still is and will be, The only Way to Lasting Life

“In the Way of Righteousness, (Tzedakah) is Life, And in its pathway there is no death.” Proverbs 12:28

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, (the victorious) so that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter the city by its gates.” Revelation 22:14

“To the one who is Victorious, (those who acted right) I will grant the right to eat of the Tree of Life in the paradise of God.”  Revelation 2:7

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (YHVH our Salvation, the Messiah!) 1 Corinthians 15:57

To Be Clothed in His Righteousness Is Life

So now when I hear someone say, “I’m saved,”  I understand why today’s religious lingo has never been a pre-requisite for Salvation.  People have been dying with their hope in the Creator’s promise since the beginning, long before our language and religious divisions.

We know, “God is One.”  There is no division in His Spirit.  Those who bear the glory of “His Name,” are called His children.  His children are those who walk in Freedom from their bondage to sin and death.  His Torah has always been The Way to Truth and Life.

Y’hoshua revealed, He is The Way, The Truth and The Life, John 14:6,  and He gave All peoples very clear instructions to, “follow Him,” John 12:26.

“Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus, (Y’shua) walked.  Beloved, I am not writing you a new commandment, but an old one, which you have had from the beginning.” 1 John 2:6.

“This is the message you have heard from the beginning:  We should love one another. 1 John 3:11

We know that we have passed from death to Life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.” 1 John 3:14

The Way of Life Is Righteousness, Which Is Summed Up As Love

Righteousness is Who He Is, it is our Creator’s Character and it describes the Attributes of those who walk in the way that leads to Life.  Man is able to come up with countless definitions for righteousness but Y’shua summed it up simply by quoting these two commands from Torah:

“‘Love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.’ Deuteronomy 6:4,5.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  Leviticus 19:18.  All the Torah and the Prophets depend/hang on these two commandments.”… Matthew 22:37; Matthew 22:40

“The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor (one another) as yourself.” Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law, (Torah) Romans 13:10; Leviticus 19:18

Those who are not clothed in the Righteousness of our Creator’s Love do not have Life.

“keep yourselves in the Love, (Righteousness), of God as you await the Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, (YHVH’s Salvation, the Messiah) to bring you eternal LifeJude 1:21

Love never failsLove, Passion and Sex.  Wrath, Fury and Jealousy

Each of these words has a physical and spiritual meaning.   We can attempt to understand the Spirit of our Creator with our finite logic or we can humbly acknowledge our own physical darkness and His Spiritual Light.

As a human, who once allowed my feelings or emotions to reign, I have experienced some extreme Mt.top highs and the lowest of depths.  This is my lesson of learning, to show just how great the contrast really is between our temporary human perceptions and lasting spiritual realities.

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares YHVH.  “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”  Isaiah 55:8,9.

Human Love, Passion and Sex

The Quest to stay on That Fleeting Mt. Top of Happiness

I thought to myself, this must be what true love feels like!  The symptoms of infatuation began to make my heart rate accelerate, I had more energy, a bounce in my step, a smile on my face.  I was consumed with thoughts of my new found love from the first thing in the morning until I fell asleep at night.  My heart didn’t touch the ground for over a year and I was certain it was mutual.  I couldn’t wait to say our wedding vows, including the words of 1 Corinthians 13:8, “Love never fails.”

What Kind of Love Never Fails?

YHVH’s Love is unfailing, steadfast, never-ending, does not forsake, leave, or withdraw, it’s an unchanging Loyalty and commitment that does not fluctuate or have anything to do with our fickle human feelings of love.

If someone “makes us feel happy” we are revealing our feelings are in complete control and giving them the power over how we feel.

To say the least, human passion is a powerful feeling.  Those who do not learn to master their feelings will be mastered by them. Genesis 4:7  Giving into human feelings can make us do things you never dreamed we would do.  Like puppet strings, it may be fun to feel their control in the high places.  Being in bondage to those strings will also take you down.

Wrath, Fury and Jealousy

By the second year of marriage those Mt.Top memories had long since been obscured by feelings of disappointment, sorrow and loneliness.  The man I had once acclaimed for my happiness was not the blame for my emotional pain.

I experienced feelings of jealousy when the marriage was first threatened.  Even I was shocked by the fury and wrath that flowed through my body, like a Mamma bear, I felt capable of shredding the enemy with my bare hands.  Those feelings I’d once called love paled in comparison to the depth of my hate.

Our divorce plagued me like a death, any good memories had been separated by association.  Pretending a sacred covenant of marriage hadn’t been broken was impossible.  I was constantly reminded of the crumbling foundation my marriage had been built on, fluctuating feelings, instead of YHVH’s Loyal Covenant Love.

It took well over a decade before I learned to recognize the difference between human feelings and Spiritual obedience.  Although humans have feelings they are instructed control them and not be controlled by them, Ephesians 4:26.

Truth about Love, Passion, Sex

In contrast to my story above, YHVH’s Love does not fluctuate, He is Love, 1 John 4:16.  His Covenant Loyalty is an unfailing spiritual obedience, devoid of any fluctuating human feelings.  He is Spirit, John 4:24. He is not needy or insecure for anything or anyone to make Him feel happy.  YHVH is One, Complete and Whole, Deuteronomy 6:4.

Our Creator’s passion can not be compared with human passion.  One is selfless and the other is selfish.  His instructions are given for our good.  Our perversion of His teaching, to keep sex exclusively within a Loyal Marriage Covenant, has destructive consequences.

Wrath, Fury and Jealousy

YHVH’s Wrath, (same word as Passion in Hebrew), Fury and Jealousy are not to be equated with human feelings.  YHVH is completely Good, Just and Right.  To be jealous of what threatens those you love is not wrong.  It is our human nature that turns them into something selfish.  Our physical concepts are only a shadow of Spiritual reality.

When we read phrases about YHVH’s, Cup of Wrath, Fury, Anger etc.we need to make sure not to project our human thinking onto anything YHVH has purposed for mankind’s ultimate Good. Romans 8:28Psalm 119:75Hebrews 12:10

Psalm 66:10  “For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.”

Our Loving Father disciplines those He loves, Hebrews 12:6 . Guiding, testing and proving us, training us in the way that leads to lasting Life.

Loyal Covenant Love does Not Fail.  It perseveres, conquers, overcomes and endures.

Covenant Loyalty is a choice, whether in marriage or toward our obedience to do Right in reverence, honor and Love toward our Creator.  We can be assured the difficulties we face, during this very temporary time on earth, are the very things setting us free, Psalm 105:19

Love shows

How loving one another shows our Unseen Creator lives in us.

The spiritual is evident by everything we do physically:

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” 1 John 4:12

Physically bowing shows a spiritually humbled heart toward our Creator.

It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.” Isaiah 45:23 ; Romans 14:11

Showing reverence to elders is a sign of reverence toward our Creator.

“‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:32

Physical coverings show spiritual modesty.  A physical symbol of being under or covered by the authority of our Creator.

Covering the head is a physical sign of being under our Creators authority.

“It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.” 1 Corinthians 11:10

“...women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.” 1 Timothy 2:10

For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shaven: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shaven, let her be covered.” 1 Corinthians 11:6

Physically giving and helping the needy shows our spiritual faith.

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith that doesn’t show is dead.” James 2:26

Physically giving mercy reveals a heart that has received God’s mercy.

because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13

How did God’s covenant of physical circumcision foreshadow mankind’s need to spiritually cut away pride from the heart?

In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh, (pride) was cut away when you were circumcised by Messiah,” Colossians 2:11

What we do is more telling than we think.

Love communicates and listens to God and others as if they were one and the same.  There is no division, no partiality or prejudice in His Love.  As Yacob/Icobus/James so clearly teaches in James chapter 2.

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”  Philippians 4:6

Try asking people if they have any prayer requests and you will find that there are many people who gladly welcome your prayers for what ever issue is troubling them.  This always amazes me because I’m not talking about “religious people”, although they welcome prayer as well.  I’ve noticed there is a universal acknowledgement that “prayer” is an act of genuine love.

The importance and value of prayer is vast and has to do with our faith as we speak our requests out loud.  “From the overflow of the heart our mouth speaks,” Matthew 12:34.  The words that flow from faith are referred to as being like smoke from burning incense, Revelation 8:4.  Our words dissipating into the atmosphere, rising upward into the dimension we are completely separated from physically.

Romans 8:25-27 We do not know how we ought to pray and the Spirit intercedes for us.

It’s our nature not to put enough value on the power our prayer requests have.  Maybe it’s because don’t know how we ought to pray or what God’s will is when we pray?  When I began to make prayer requests I would say the persons name I was interceding for, repeat their prayer request out loud and make a physical motion of giving them to God with my hand opened.  Whether that is correct or not I don’t know, prayer is meant to be humbling.  When one of my specific prayers were answered the way I’d hoped, I was ecstatic.  When the answer unfolded in a way that brought pain and suffering, I mourned.  There are no coincidences, we are to thank God for the good and the bad because He can be trusted.   Romans 14:16-18

As I read what Jesus taught about loving one another, John 13:33-35 and the way we treat ourselves and each other being the way we are treated Him, Luke 6:30-32 ; Matthew 25:43-45  it’s just doesn’t fully compute.

The fact that we are viewing His Truth/Reality/Life through the darkness of our spiritual death/separation/deception is the reason we must ask God to expose our wrong thinking:   Our hidden pride, our self-sufficiency and judgmental attitudes, everything that is offensive to God.   This is possible as we sit in the light of His Love, (like King David in Psalm 139 asked God to search him and show him his offensive ways)

Meditating on His Words of Truth transforms our wrong thinking, Psalm 19:13-14 ;  Psalm 104:33-35… focusing on a scripture, continually playing it over and over in your mind.  Instead of re-playing worries, try turning your thoughts into prayers.  If you can worry, then you know how to meditate.  (Our mind can magnify a fear by playing it over and over until it has preoccupied our thoughts, we can also magnify God the same way).

Continually recalling God’s unseen attributes will magnify how Ineffable and Sovereign  He really is.  “For we live, move, and exist because of him…”, Acts 17:28.  Worship helps to keep our perspective on Him and off of our selves.  “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  John 4:24

Be still and know that He is God, He will be exalted among the nations, He will be exalted in all the earth. Psalm 46:9-11 .

The fear (or reverence), (magnification) of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom, Psalm 111:9-10 .   Anything we fear or revere above God becomes an Idol that we have made bigger than and set above God.

Matthew 25:43-45 Jesus makes it clear that the way we treat people is exactly the way we are treating Him.  Love is an action word, when we love others we pray for them when no one knows but God.

We need to pray for people the way the authors of the Bible relayed.   Acts 6:4.   Paul prayed for people to have a greater Love and that they would abound and mature in faith, knowledge and wisdom in the Spirit.  That they would have Spiritual power, endurance, long-suffering, Joy, and gratitude. Ephesians 1, Philippians 1 and Colossians 1.

He prayed for Spiritual needs and reminded us that God is glorified in our weakness. Romans 12:12.

This is how we ought to pray, for everyone, routinely asking God to give all people these specific strengths.

“You have never locked eyes with a person who God does not Love”

“Praylessness is a declaration of independence from God.”

“Prayer is a declaration of dependency on God”.

Love prays and prayer is what we do when no one is looking because we believe that our Father sees everything we do.

What is YHVH’s Kingdom?

People of faith believe there is an unseen, spiritual Kingdom of YHVH. That may sound confusing or even ridiculous to those who don’t believe in anything they can’t see, feel, taste, touch or smell.  It is actually a wonder that so many do stake their lives on something Unseen.

As i write this I can hear a windstorm blowing outside..  I can’t see the wind but I can sure hear it.  As I look out the window I can tell by the bending trees and swaying branches that it’s blowing back and forth from the South and rebounding to the North. John 3:8.   It’s a lot easier for me to describe the effects of the wind than to just tell you it exists.  That is also how I will describe the Kingdom of God.

Before microscopic things were brought into view by microscopes or telescopes were able to increase our ability to bring planets into view, people had all kinds of wrong thinking about microorganisms, human cells and the solar system.

2 Corinthians 4:17 says,…we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

This life and everything we see is, without question, temporary.  So how can anyone be confident that there is another reality, a Kingdom that’s lasting.  A completely different kingdom than the one we all live in now.  One that we are spiritually separated from by our human nature.  A Kingdom where Love reigns.

Luke 17:20  The Pharisees questioned Jesus about when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable; 21 no one will say, ‘Look here!’ or ‘There!’ For you see, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Remember when you were a child and heard your first warning about the germs on some piece of food you just dropped on the floor?  I personally had no problem believing in unseen germs as a child.  In my imagination I could see these invisible bad “germs” all over the floor and even to this day I cringe just watching someone eat something they dropped on the floor.  Children are quick to believe, quick to love, quick to forgive and give mercy, not holding grudges or easily offended.  Because of their lack of pride they are naturally humble and obedient when disciplined.

Matthew 18:3-4  “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

There comes a point in our lives when we start to doubt and think critically.  We learn to discern what is true and what is not by asking questions and searching for truth.  Eventually we all come up with our own private logic.

Our Creator has not left us without His Living, Unchanging, Words of Truth.  A plum line, to know the straight Way, a level t show right from wrong and good from bad.  It is as sure as gravity and liquid for showing the Light of Truth in a world in bondage to darkness.

Acts 17:11  The people here were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, since they welcomed the message with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

We are told to examine the Scriptures daily to see if what we are believing is True.  So what did Jesus mean when He said no one will enter the Kingdom of heaven unless they become like that lowly, humble and trusting child?

It’s obvious we are not supposed to be naive and gullible, believing everything we hear without checking it to the original teachings given to Moses, referred to in Hebrew as the Torah.

Matthew 10:16 “Look, I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as serpents and as harmless as doves.

Little children are as harmless as doves but God’s Word, the Torah, and all every teaching that matches up to it,  has a lot to say about gaining spiritual wisdom and being shrewd.

Children have the ability to believe in the reality of God’s Unseen, Eternal Kingdom because they have not yet made ego their master.  But eventually we do become wise in our own eyes.  Pride displaces that humility and the battle begins in the depth of our inner most being.  We being expecting to have our own way, become easily offended, our feelings control our moods and we react hatefully and selfishly, without any restraint, like puppets we allow those stings to control us.

We can’t understand why or how God allows pain and suffering as the tools that mold us back into the attitude of a humble child.  But He does discipline those He Loves. ( Hebrews 12:6; Proverbs 3:12 )

Acts 14:22b “It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

God’s Word is quite clear in describing the difference between two very opposite kingdoms, but first we need to understand the exact definition of a kingdom:

  1. A country, state, or territory ruled by a king or queen.
  2. A realm associated with or regarded as being under the control of a particular person or thing.

Jesus referred to God as “His Father and our Father.”  We are all His creation, and His children.  He was the fulfillment of the promise that freed mankind spiritually to enter His Kingdom .  Romans 5:9-11  But there’s only one way to enter His Kingdom and that way is humility.  Following the example of a humble servant, the way Jesus modeled for all to know.   He was lowly and humble of heart, Matthew 11:28-30Isaiah 57:14-16Luke 1:51-53 laying down everything, pride, rights and grudge holding,

Thanks to God’s mercy, everything in this kingdom is temporary.  Genesis 3:22 tells us that The LORD God said, “Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.”

God protected us from that second tree, and from the option of  living like this forever.  It’s only ’till death do us part and we are free from God’s adversary, (Satan).  Even followers of Jesus, living here and now in the Kingdom of God, have to deal with this temporary adversary until the day their flesh dies.

God is Sovereign over everything in His creation, even over evil.  He is Just and Fair, He is Faithful and True, His plan for our deliverance is perfect, made from before the creation of the world. Titus 1:1-3 ,2 Timothy 1:8-10 , 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 , John 17:4-6

This curse of deception we have fallen under is pride, ego, the selfish desire to be our own god and have our own way. Everything in our nature desires to be “under the control of “and “ruled by” our self or ego.  We are blind spiritually and cannot see our spiritual bondage to this lie unless we learn to humble ourselves and lay down our pride, obediently following the way to freedom, the way of Love, the only way back to God Who is Love.  Romans 8:20-22 , 1 Corinthians 14:1-3 , John 14:5-7 , 1 John 4:15-17

1 Corinthians 15:50 Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and corruption cannot inherit in-corruption.

Flesh and Blood VS Spirit

There will be no flesh and blood, nothing physical, in God’s Kingdom.  Flesh and blood can be defined as;  fearful, cynical, prideful, unloving, unforgiving, judgmental, self-righteous, self-serving, self-anything, grudge holders and idolaters, (anything you desire above God), will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Galatians 5:18-20

The Spiritual is opposed to the flesh, Galatians 5:16-24 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Romans 14:17 the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit.

The Illusion of our own, third, Kingdom

Reality is that there are only two kingdoms, one is flesh and blood in the physical realm and one is Spirit.

We may believe we are our own ruler or god but our Creator’s Word  tells us that we have been deceived by the Father of all lies and murdered from the beginning, John 8:43-45Romans 5:11-13.

When mankind, Adam and Eve chose to be “like gods,” their own rulers, all creation fell, died, from the light of God’s rule.  But it was a lie that put them in the chains of death, the ruler of the kingdom of darkness. Ephesians 6:11-13 , 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.

Our hope is in the One Who Created us, He has the power to raise us from the dead, 1 Corinthians 6:14.

Paul is instructed to open peoples eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me, Acts 26:17Acts 26:18.

Mark 4: 10-12  To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside [of our circle] everything becomes a parable, 12 In order that they may [indeed] look and look but not see and perceive, and may hear and hear but not grasp and comprehend, lest haply they should turn again, and it [their willful rejection of the truth] should be forgiven them.

The Kingdom of God is a mystery that has been entrusted only to those who ask for the faith to see it, through childlike eyes and imagination.  It is not for the proud and ungodly to grasp or comprehend it because they willfully reject the Truth.  (James 1:13)

Revelation 17:17 For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His plan by having one purpose and to give their kingdom to the beast until God’s words are accomplished.

The Only Lasting Kingdom

Pride keeps us from asking God for faith to perceive truth with Spiritual sight and He gives generously to all who ask, without fault finding.  He has set us free from the kingdom of pride by His Way of humility.  2 Peter 1:10-12 ; Matthew 25:33-35 , James 1:5-7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

The deceiver knows how to keep us blind with doubt, confusion and fear, he will even lead us to think we enjoy whatever it is we have placed about our Creator.

It is only Truth that Sets us Free, John 8:32

God’s Word is Truth and His Truth became flesh and blood to free us from our bondage to deception.  We have been bought and paid for by the Covenant blood.  We remind ourselves that we take part in this promise every time we take communion. 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

This is our hope, and the Good News of God’s Kingdom.  We must be obedient to share the Truth that all people are free to enter God’s Kingdom.  Trusting God, humbly receiving His implanted Word and being obedient to what it says;

Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:26-28
