 The Parable of The Leaven

He (Y’shua) told them still another parable: “The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.” Matthew 13:33

What is Leaven?

1.)  What is Leaven?  Leaven is used to make bread dough rise.  It is a single celled microorganism classified in the fungus kingdom.  Also known as yeast, it creates a fermentation process that converts sugars to carbon dioxide gas and makes bread dough rise.

Pictured above, Sally Fields plays, The Flying Nun, in one of my favorite childhood T.V. shows.  Here she discovers the power of yeast in bread dough.

The Spiritual Meaning of The Leaven

“Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”  Luke 12:1

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?  Get rid of the old yeast, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For Christ, (Messiah) our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed.…” 1 Corinthians 5:6

Y’shua explained several parables giving, those with ears to hear,  clues revealing Spiritual Truth, using physical examples.

“Watch out!” Jesus told them. “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”  Matthew 16:6

“How can you not understand that I was not telling you about bread?   But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”  Matthew 16:11

Then they understood that He was not telling them to beware of the yeast used in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Matthew 16:12

Hypocrisy, Corrupted Teaching and our Boasting is referred to as the old, bad leaven.

At our Creator’s annually appointed Feast of Unleavened Bread we get rid of our leaven, Leviticus 23:5 .

“Therefore let us keep the (Passover/Unleavened Bread) Feast, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” 1 Corinthians 5:8

2.)  Who is The Woman?  The Spirit of God is a feminine Hebrew word, Ruach.

The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit (Ruach) of God was moving over the surface of the waters.Genesis 1:2.

We Become One, Leavened in His Spirit of Truth

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of Life drink freely. Revelation 22:17

YHVH’s (He Exists) named His people Israel, meaning the one who struggles/perseveres and overcomes with God, El.

Whether we call ourselves The Church, Assembly, Congregation, His Body, His Children, His Seed, His Servants or The Bride of Messiah/Christ, there is no division in Spiritual Israel.

YHVH is One, His Torah is Perfect and He Does Not Change:  Deuteronomy 6:4Psalm 19:7John 17:11John 17:21Mark 12:29James 2:19.  Malachi 3:6James 1:17Corinthians 10:171 Corinthians 12:12.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.

The Woman is His Spirit

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into One body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given One Spirit to drink.” 1 Corinthians 12:13

“So it is not the children of the flesh who are God’s (Spiritual) children, but it is the children of the promise (given to Abraham) who are regarded as offspring.”  Romans 9:8Galatians 3:16

“so in Christ/Messiah we who are many are One Body, and each member belongs to one another.”  Romans 12:5Ephesians 5:30

“…For I promised you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ/Messiah.”  2 Corinthians 11:2

And when the dragon (serpent) saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. Revelation 12:13;  Genesis 3:15.

And the dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, (that’s us) who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus...” Revelation 12:17

Like Yeast, (the Kingdom of Heaven) that the Woman, (The Ruach), took and mixed into three measures of flour.

3.)  Why Three Measures?

So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, “Quickly, prepare three measures of fine flour, knead it and make bread cakes.” Genesis 18:6

Three measures of flour is a weight called an Ephah, which is approximately 92.99- 144 cups of flour, depending on which conversion table you google.  I also found Three measures, or an Ephah, of flour mentioned in these passages:  Judges 6:191 Samuel 1:241 Samuel 17:17; Ezekiel 45:11,12Ezekiel 45:24Ezekiel 46:5; Ruth 2:17.

Similar to the grain offering given at The Feast of Shavuot or Pentecost.  Two leavened loaves are offered as the First-Fruits of the wheat harvest.  Fifty days after Y’shua resurrected from the dead and ten days after He ascended to heaven, He instructed 120 people to wait, (unleavened) for the promised Spirit (Ruach), Acts 1:15Luke 24:49 .

The Giving of Torah and The Giving of The Spirit at Shavuot

Moses received the Torah at Shavuot, the third lunar month, Exodus 19:1; Leviticus 23:15.  The Spirit was also given to Y’shua’s disciples at Shavuot (Pentecost), Acts 2:1  Y’shua also referred to Himself as The Torah, saying “…These are the very Words that bear witness about Me,” John 5:39Matthew 3:11Ephesians 6:17.

Jesus answered, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life, (Torah). No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6; 1 John 5:6;  Revelation 19:10

From Unleavened to Being Leavened with His Spirit

Passover/Unleavened Bread is celebrated on the 14th of the first lunar month at twilight. Physically we search our homes for hidden yeast and remove every spec of it from our homes.  Beginning the eve of Passover, only Unleavened bread is to be eaten for seven days, Exodus 13:7.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;  And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the Everlasting Way.” Psalm 139:23

“Get rid of the old yeast, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.”  1 Corinthians 5:7

The Kingdom of Heaven is like, a Woman, (The Ruach) who took yeast, (Torah) and mixed it with three measures of (unleavened) flour,  until All of it was leavened, (in His Kingdom).

Prophecies Fulfilled By Y’shua (Jesus)

The day I realized every 1st century “New Testament” writer, referred only to the TaNaK, (a Hebrew acronym meaning Torah, Prophets, Writings), as The Word of God, was the day I stopped calling it The “Old Testament.”

“For the word of God is Living  and Active. Sharper than any double-edged Sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12Psalm 149:6.

Y’shua is The Living Word, He is Torah, meaning The Way of Truth and Life.  When God’s Word became flesh He revealed a Spiritual mystery;  These Scriptures testify About Him,

Every prophecy written about Y’shua matches up to the plum line of His Word;

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  John 1:1

You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,”  John 5:39

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He (Y’shua) explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.”  Luke 24:27

Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law (Torah) of Moses the Prophets, the and Psalms. Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,” Luke 24:44, 45.

Purging out the old Leaven and What it Represents

What is leaven and Why remove it from our homes every year?

We call the leaven used in bread dough, yeast, it’s what makes the dough rise or puff up.

Knowledge is something that puffs us up, 1 Corinthians 8:1.  In other words, the more we think we know puffs up our opinions.  Opinions cause divisions, disagreements, arguments, conflicts and even wars because the flesh desires to be right, James 4:1

What are we to do then, when we feel assaulted by some other “know it all” with a differing opinion?  As you may have already experienced, the moment we verbalize our disagreement our puffed up flesh become evident.   No matter how many times we try to punch the hot air out of inflated bread dough it continues to rise.

The Symbolism of Spring Cleaning

Spring is the beginning of months, the first month of the lunar year, Exodus 12:2.

In the days before the annual Seven Days of Unleavened Bread the search for hidden leaven begins.  I always looked forward to Spring cleaning, it’s like an inner time-clock that goes along with the nicer weather.  Now I know an even greater meaning for this time of thorough cleaning.

Keeping in mind there is a Spiritual parallelism between our homes and our bodies. As we begin our search for leaven in our homes, we also ask for our wrong thinking, anything that puffs us up, to be revealed, Psalm 139:23  .  We start remembering to check ingredients for foods that contain leaven.  Going through all those stored away containers in our pantries, cupboards and refrigerators.  Cleaning every crumb out of our toasters, our ovens, on our counter-tops and floors.

When every spec of hidden leaven is out of our home, and consequently clean just feels good, we are ready to begin eating Unleavened Bread for seven days.  Leviticus 23:6

There are no exceptions to the blindness we humans tend to have toward our own Haughty Pride, John 12:40.  We may even be able to recognize it in others and completely miss the way it looks in ourselves, Matthew 7:3.   The ego or pride of our flesh is attached to an inevitable fall and it is destined for destruction, Proverbs 16:18.   A puffed up ego also makes us unteachable.

Only the humble are able to perceive the wrong in their own thinking in order to (repent) turn and be healed, Matthew 13:15.

Unleavened Bread represents our humbled flesh.  The humble take every thought (opinion) captive and make it obedient to the knowledge of its Creator, 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Remember these appointed days are our Creator’s days, Leviticus 23:4.  His Name perpetual Name is YHVH (He Exists).  His people are those who keep, guard and remember His instructions perpetually.  He does not change, His Word is Perfect.  It will not be abolished until all has been accomplished and that is when heaven and earth pass away, Genesis 1:14Matthew 5:18.

We Went to Learn More About The Israeli Palestinian Conflict

We thought traveling to Israel and Palestine, to meet with people living in the midst of this conflict, would give answers.

“If we think we have answers, we may not even understand the question.”

Now I understand why we kept hearing this quote but I didn’t think it pertained to me until after I returned home.  Now I have a confession to make, I do think there’s only One answer.  Honestly, doesn’t everyone who believes in our Messiah’s covenant on the cross think; if only they knew the Prince of PeaceIsaiah 9:6Ephesians 2:14

But I came home humbled by some pretty hefty questions.  These questions kept me up at night, or maybe it was jet lag, but either way, I had a lot of time to think.

“There are many sides to this Israeli Palestinian conflict.”

This was another quote we heard as we began our journey into Palestinian territory.  Although walking next to the thirty foot concrete dividing wall I could only see two sides, the Jewish and the Non-Jewish.

Why was this physical dividing wall so obvious when the Spiritual dividing wall had been abolished over 2,000 years ago, Ephesians 2:14-16?  The prophesy of the promised Seed was fulfilled through the line of Judah.  There is no more reason for division between Jew and non-Jew.  Our Jewish Messiah has made both into One, establishing peace …1 Corinthians 12:13Colossians 1:20Colossians 3:11 and 15.

Chrisy at the Wall

So why was there still a physical dividing wall growing?  What exactly has changed in the past two thousand years since Spiritual peace was established?

Peace Was Never Promised to This Temporary World of Death and Destruction

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest by the Jews. But now, My Kingdom is not of this realm.” John 18:36

Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.Matthew 10:34

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor/grace rests!”Luke 2:14

Re-reading the three verses above clarified three things: 1.) His Kingdom is not of this world;  2.) it is not observable;  3.) it is within those who rest in His favor/grace, Luke 17:20Luke 17:21.

Since Adam and Eve there has been a purpose for division.  And with the curse of death came a promise of hope, Genesis 3:15.  Our Merciful Creator did not permit them to eat from the Tree of Life and live in their fallen state forever.   No one will not be permitted to eat from the Tree of Life until they overcome, Revelation 2:7

All that to say, “heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:35 this world, earth, land is as temporary as we are.

“The Land is Mine.”

Leviticus 25:23Hebrews 11:131 Peter 2:11Exodus 19:5Psalm 119:19.

The land belongs to YHVH (He Exists) to give or take from whomever He pleases.

In reality we are all just renters with One Landlord, Matthew 21:41.  Our temporary bodies and this temporary earth will be made New, Isaiah 65:17Isaiah 60:212 Peter 3:13.

Both King David and Y’shua (Jesus) were referring to the New earth when they said, “the humble will inherit the earth,” Psalm 37:11Matthew 5:5.

I’ve discovered it wasn’t the answers but the questions that humbled me enough to re-think and search the Living, Unchanging Word of YHVH.

Has Isaiah’s prophesy about All people becoming righteous and “possessing the Land Forever” been accomplished? Isaiah 60:21

When this glorious mystery of The Good News is accomplished, who will inherit what Land?  Psalm 37:29Matthew 5:5

“but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of YHVH is accomplished, as He preached to His servants the prophets.” Revelation 10:7

“Surely YHVH God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets,” Amos 3:7

The Two Sticks becoming One

Regarding Judah and Ephraim, the Jewish and Non-Jewish, and the two sticks became One, “join them for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become One in your hand. Ezekiel 37:17

“And YHVH will be King over all the earth; in that day YHVH will be the only one, and His Name the only one,” Zechariah 14:9.

We still, hopefully, await the day YHVH brings His Kingdom to reign on the new earth.

“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law, (Torah) or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.  Until heaven and earth pass away not one yod or vav will pass from the Torah until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:17; Matthew 5:18

All is not yet accomplished.  Physically we still live under the curse of “enmity” YHVH placed between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the Serpent,  Genesis 3:15.

We know Y’shua took the curse on the cross, Galatians 3:13.  He fulfilled that obscure Hebrew idiom, “He will bruise his head,”  meaning, to conquer.  He conquered death when He rose to New Spiritual Life, on the third day of First Fruits. At the pre-appointed time of Unleavened Bread, and proof that the rest would follow, (when all is accomplished),  1 Corinthians 15:20.

“If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too.” Romans 11:16

Unity in Him

From Adam to Judah, we are able to trace the linage of the prophesied Seed.  YHVH divided one people, from all the peoples of the earth, so all would recognize Y’shua as the promised Messiah.  Yet this physical division remains only because people failed to  search the Scriptures to see what they said about Him. John 5:39

Weather it is believed or not, the reason for the division between Jewish or non-Jewish has been fulfilled.  We are One in Y’shua Messiah, the promised Seed of Abraham, and heirs of the coming promise, Galatians 3:28,29.

From Genesis to Revelation, YHVH’s (He Exists) reveals His plan from the beginning was for All peoples to be blessed, Genesis 12:3Revelation 15:4

“The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles, non-Jewish, by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.” Galatians 3:8

But try Explaining that to a Wall…

Back to our tour and the exceptional job our guides did of setting us up with informative meetings and meals with Palestinian Christians, Muslims, and Israeli settlers.

We were met with warm greetings, hospitality, kind faces and stoic stories of suffering, loss, forgiveness and perseverance.  Now I realize how little I understood about the cultural importance of the land. On both sides there are those who are willing to risk their lives for what they know is rightfully their land.

PassoverPassover is a Picture of Jesus, (Y’shua). His full Hebrew Name, Y’hoshua, means YHVH’s Salvation.

From the beginning our Creator put lights in the sky to separate day from night and to be Signs, (Oth) of His Appointed Days (Moed) and years, (Shanah), Genesis 1:14.

Moses was given detailed instructions of YHVH’s pre-Appointed days.  These days are called, “Olam Chuqah,” “Appointed Forever.”

Now this day will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a festival to YHVH; throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.Exodus 12:14

“I have made you to be a Light to the nations, (goyim), to bring Salvation to the ends of the earth,” Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 42:6Acts 13:47.

The Light of Salvation in The Passover Story

Passover precedes the seven day Festival of Unleavened Bread, Matthew 26:17.

The 1st month of the Lunar year (Aviv/Nisan), on the fourteenth day, YHVH’s Passover begins at twilight, Exodus 12:2; Leviticus 23:5

Preparation for Passover.

Four days earlier, on the 10th day of Aviv, lamb was chosen and observed for any defects; Exodus 12:5; 1 Peter 1:19.  Y’shua, (The Lamb of God, John 1:29 ), fulfilled prophecy when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey’s cult,  Zechariah 9:9; Mark 11:7Mark 11:9 Psalm 118:26; Mark 11:11.

Spring cleaning may have originated from the thorough cleaning of the home that precedes Passover.  Every square inch is searched and even the smallest crumbs of Chametz, (leaven/yeast) are burned the day before.

Spiritually Leaven represents “Sin” as defined by the Ten Commandments, and even more specifically by our lack of Merciful, Loyal, Loving Kindness and Compassion toward each other; Leviticus 19:18; Romans 13:8James 2:8Galatians 5:14Romans 13:10.

Leaven “puffs up” bread dough like sin “puff up” our ego’s.  Leaven hidden in dough lets off and invisible gas called C02 and over time the dough appears larger than it really is, just like our boasting, arrogance and hypocrisy;  1 Corinthians 5:61 Corinthians 8:1: Luke 12:1.

“Watch out! Jesus told them. “Beware of the yeast (false teachings/hypocrisy) of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Matthew 16:6Matthew 16:12.

Like King David We Also Ask to Be Searched

“Search me O God, and know my heart, examine me, and know my thoughts, Psalm 139:23

“Examine me, O YHVH, test my inmost being and my heart.” Psalm 26:2

“Each one must Examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.” 1 Corinthians 11:28

Just before twilight the woman of the house Lights the candles.

“that Messiah would suffer, and as the first to rise from the dead, He would proclaim Light to our people and to the Nations. Acts 26:23; Isaiah 49:6.

“Blessed are You our Father, our God, King of the Universe, we kindle the lights in your Name.” Amen (Revised from “commanded us to kindle the lights”)

Hand Washing or Foot Washing Ceremony?

Aaron and his sons washed their hands and feet; Exodus 30:19 Exodus 40:31.  Y’shua humbly washed the feet of His disciples, John 13:5; Genesis 18:4; Matthew 20:28.   Clean hands signifies a pure heart; Job 17:9; Psalm 24:4; Psalm 26:6James 4:8, but Y’shua also had a lot to say to the religious hypocrites who taught their hand washing tradition as a Commandment of God:  Matthew 15:9Mark 7:7; Isaiah 29:13; Luke 11:38.

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the universe, we wash our hands, (and feet) and purify our hearts in your Name.” Amen (revised from “commanded us concerning washing of the hands.”)

Why Are We Reclining on Pillows?

Because slaves of oppression, (the curse of sin and death) do not recline.  As YHVH’s children we serve Him.  As co- heirs with Messiah, YHVH’s Anointed King, we recline as a reminder of our freedom, Romans 8:15,16.  (Reclining is loosely translated from,”led the people around,” “to lean or recline.” Exodus 13:18)

Dip the Bitter Parsley in the Salt Water of Tears

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the Universe, who creates the fruits of the earth.” Amen

The Cup of Sanctification

Pour the 1st the cup of Sanctification, (Kaddesh):  I will bring you out; Exodus 6:6.

Fill the cup to overflowing, Psalm 23:5.  Picture the symbolism of grapes being crushed in order to be transformed into Wine.   Wine is also symbolic of the blood required in cutting a covenant, and wine gladdens the heart. Psalm 104:15; Exodus 24:8Mark 14:24…

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; Chastening for our Shalom bruised Him, for are healing.” Isaiah 53:5; Romans 4:251 Corinthians 15:3Hebrews 9:281 Peter 2:24

Drink The 1st Cup

“Blessed are you YHVH our Elohim, King of the Universe, creator of the fruit of the vine” Amen

Seder Means Order

(Children are the priority on this night, give them questions to read, at prompted times, and make it as fun, creative and memorable as possible), Psalm 78:4Exodus 12:26Exodus 13:8Exodus 13:14.

We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of YHVH, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.” Psalm 78:4

The Afikomen is Broken, Wrapped in Linen, and Hidden for Later.

Take the three pieces of matzah, out of One bag, and break the middle piece.  Wrap the larger piece in linen and put it in an Afikomen bag.  Tuck it away until you can hide it while the children are eating.  After the meal see who can find it and give them a silver redemption coin. Exodus 30:11-16

I Am the Bread of Life  John 6:35

The Telling (Haggadah)

The youngest child is prompted to ask the first question:  “Why is this night different from all the other nights?” (Additional questions and answers; Exodus 13:14Exodus 12:26Exodus 10:2Exodus 13:8.)   Ask questions to make sure everyone understands the meaning of Passover, Matzah and Maror, the bitter herbs.

Pour the 2nd Cup of Remembrance:  “I will Deliver you,” Exodus 6:6.

The Hebrew word “remember” means to “re-experience.”  We remember the 10 plagues by removing 1 drop of wine from our cup as each plague is read; (have the children read 10 numbered 3X5 cards with visuals) 1. Nile River turned to Blood 2. Frogs 3. Lice 4. Flies or Wild Beasts, (Arov means mixed) 5. Animal disease 6. Boils 7. Hail 8. Locusts 9. Thick darkness 10. Death of the firstborn, (How does this parallel Y’shua?).

Pharaoh finally orders Israel to leave but has a change of heart and pursues them. (The parting of the Red Sea creates the Way to “cross over”, the word “Hebrew” means to “cross over.”  We “cross over” from death to life, spiritually in Y’hoshua, YHVH’s Salvation)

“We know that we have “crossed over” from death to Life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. 1 John 3:14

(Read the entire Passover story from a Haggadah, in unison and/or have everyone expound on one persons narrative.)

Drink The 2nd Cup

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine.” Amen

Wash hands and Bless All the Matzah

Blessed are you, our Father, our God, king of the universe, we wash our hands and purify our hearts in your Name. Amen (revised from “commanded us concerning washing of the hands.”)

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth,” Amen

Eat Matzah with Bitter Herbs

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the universe, who sanctified us with His Commandments, and commanded us concerning the eating of matzah and bitter herbs.”  Amen (revised two blessings into one)

The Passover Meal

The Holy, Sanctified, Set Apart, Passover Meal is a light meal, traditionally chicken soup with matzo balls.  You want to save room for the Afikomen, but you can be as creative as you like serving a variety of foods without leaven.

“When you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless YHVH your God for the good land which He has given you.” Amen Deuteronomy 8:10

The 3rd Cup of Redemption

Pour the 3rd Cup of Redemption:  “I will redeem you,” Exodus 6:6.

Our early church fathers changed the name of the “3rd cup” to, “Communion.”

‘I tell you, I will not drink this fruit of the vine again until the day I drink new wine with you in the Kingdom of My Father.’ Matthew 26:29

“This cup that is poured out on your behalf is the New Covenant in my blood.” Luke 22:16-18; Jeremiah 31:33

Blessing Over the Afikomen

When everyone has finished eating, and the redemption price is paid to the child who finds the Afikomen, it is blessed and everyone is handed a small piece.

“Blessed are you, our Father, our God, King of the Universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.” Amen

The Afikomin is called “the bread of affliction.” Take note of its marks and piercing.  It is the last thing to be eaten.

“…A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.” Psalm 22:16Zechariah 12:10.

The 4th and Final Cup

Elijah’s cup is poured but not drank.  Malachi 4:5; Matthew 11:14.  Now we pour the cup in anticipation of our Messiah’s return.

The 4th Cup of Praise:  “I will take you to Myself,” Exodus 6:7  Also called the cup of Blessing; 1 Corinthians 10:16.  Joy is like a Light in the darkness, rejoice in all things, Philippians 2:18; Philippians 4:41 Thessalonians 5:16…

The Door Was Opened for Elijah, Now it’s Opened for Our Messiah.

Read or Sing Psalm 113-118

“And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.”  Matthew 26:30

Additional praise songs:  Miriam’s Song, Exodus 15:21.

“and they sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb: “Great and wonderful are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!” Revelation 15:3

Make a toast to Life, and say, “next year in Jerusalem,” (at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!)

“Let us rejoice and celebrate and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. Revelation 19:7; Matthew 22:2
