If You Don’t Understand Israel, You Don’t Understand The Good News.

The first time we hear the name Israel is right after Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, wrestles all night with a man/God, and he Prevails.   Genesis 32:24; Genesis 32:25; Genesis 32:26.

He said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have persevered, (sarah #8280) with God and with men and have Prevailed, (yakol #3201).Genesis 32:28.

God tells Jacob the meaning of his new name, Israel, because you have persevered with God and with men and Prevailed.”  It is important to understand the meaning of the name Israel in order to connect its synonyms throughout the Bible; Victory, Conquerors, Overcome, Triumphant, Reign, Succeed, from Genesis 3:15 to Revelation 12:11.

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ, (Y’hoshua Messiah) 1 Corinthians 15:57

“No, in all these things we are more than Conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
“because everyone born of God Overcomes the world.  And this is the Victory that has Overcome the world: our faith.” 1 John 5:4

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assembly (Israel). To the one who Prevails/Overcomes/Conquers/Triumphs/is Victorious, I will grant the right to eat of the Tree of Life in the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7

God Creates “Physical” Israel to Reveal “Spiritual” Israel

Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your Torah.” Psalm 119:18

Spiritual blindness remains on those under the physical curse of sin and death, Deuteronomy 27:26 ; Psalm 119:21Jeremiah 11:3Galatians 3:10.  “But Blessed are your eyes” and your ears when you perceive God’s Spiritual redemption that came through His Living Word, (Y’hoshua); Hebrews 4:12; Ephesians 6:17Romans 7:14; Galatians 3:14; John 1:1.

“But Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” Matthew 13:16

“Yet to this day YHVH has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear.” Deuteronomy 29:4

“This is why I (Y’hoshua) speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.” Matthew 13:13

“All Nations Will Be Blessed Through You.

This is The Good News, “All Nations Will Be Blessed Through You.”  May you be blessed to perceive this Spiritual mystery that has been revealed through the “Seed” of Israel.

Jacob, now called Israel, like his father Isaac and his grandfather Abraham, all receive the same, very unique, promise, “All nations (goyim) will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3 Genesis 26:4Genesis 28:14.

*Notice the Hebrew word, goyim #1471, it is not an ethnic or religious term, All means All.

Hence Jacob’s name change begets a Holy, (Set Apart) Nation/People, (Goy #1471) to YHVH, (He Exists).

Israel was holy to YHVH, The first of His harvest. All who ate of it became guilty; evil came upon them,” declares YHVH” Jeremiah 2:3

The Good News Came Through Abraham’s Seed/Offspring

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you Good News of great joy that will be for All the peopleLuke 2:10

The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the gentiles (goyim) by faith, and foretold the Gospel/the Good News to Abraham: “All Nations, (Goyim) will be blessed through you.” Galatians 3:8

Abraham did not receive one foot of the promised physical land, Acts 7:5; Genesis 13:15  He foresaw the Spiritual promise of the Good News; “All nations will be blessed through you.

God foretold Abraham his descendants would be strangers in a land not their own, and they will be enslaved and oppressed 400 years.  Then God would judge the nation they served and afterward they would come out with great possessions.  Genesis 15:13

This all happened just as God prophesied:  Abraham’s grandson, Israel, moved his small clan of 70 people to Egypt because of the great famine.  His people were eventually oppressed by the new Pharaoh, and 400 years later, like a long labor, the nation of Israel was delivered. (see the book of Exodus)

This is Why Israel is Called, “My Son

“Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says YHVH, “Israel is My SonMy Firstborn.” Exodus 4:22; Jeremiah 31:9

Israel had twelve sons who became the twelve tribes of Israel.  His favored son, Joseph, was sold into slavery by his half brothers when he was 17 years old.  Joseph ended up in Egypt, misunderstood and unjustly imprisoned until he was 30 years old.  After interpreting the Pharaoh’s dream Joseph was appointed second in command of all Egypt.  He was also given an Egyptian wife and they have two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

The great famine, as revealed in Pharaoh’s dream, brings Joseph’s family, Israel, to Egypt in search of grain.  Israel consisted of 70 people who were welcomed to settle in the land of Goshen.  The next generation brought a new Pharaoh who oppressed the Israelite’s, just as God foretold Abraham, they were enslaved for 400 years.

Out of Affliction God Brought Forth His Spiritual Promise.

“I will surely tell of the decree of YHVH: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You (brought you forth).” Psalm 2:7

I also shall make him My Firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.” Psalm 89:27

“But now, YHVH, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

“When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My Son.” Hosea 11:1

This fulfilled what the Lord (YHVH) had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”Matthew 2:15

Y’hoshua, (Jesus) is Called “My Son.”

(Y’hoshua means YHVH’s Salvation in Hebrew, Y’shua is Aramaic, Jesus is English)

“And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!” Matthew 3:17;Mark 1:11; Mark 9:7 Luke 3:22Luke 9:35; John 3:16

“For to which of the angels did God ever say: “You are my Son; today I have become Your Father”?  Or again: “I will be His Father, and He will be My Son”?  Hebrews 1:5; Psalm 2:7

He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus (Y’hoshua). As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, today I have become Your Father.’ Acts 13:33

Israel Was Created to Reveal God’s Anointed Seed, Y’hoshua.

“The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.  The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your Seed,”meaning One, who is Messiah/Christ.”  Galatians 3:16; Genesis 3:15

In your Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:18

Still a Veil Covers Their Hearts

“And even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.  But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, (YHVH’s Salvation), the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:152 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 4:18Isaiah 25:7…

Abraham was given the promise of the Seed who would bless All nations, 430 years before Moses wrote the Torah.  The Torah records the same promise of a Seed given to Adam and Eve 2,000 years earlier, Genesis 3:15.  Y’hoshua was born, 4,000 years later and explained, Moses wrote about Him, John 5:46; Luke 24:27

“What I mean is this: The Law (Moses) that came four hundred thirty years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to cancel the promise.” Galatians 3:17

Not Understanding The Good News is the Cause of Religious Divisions

The point being, the world’s religious divisions are proof the veil remains.  When the promised Seed came it was no longer necessary to set apart the lineage he would come through.

There is neither Jew (Judean) nor Greek, (Gentile) slave nor free, male nor female, for you are All One in Messiah Y’hoshua, (Christ Jesus).   And if you belong to Messiah/Christ, then you are Abraham’s Seed and heirs according to the Promise. Galatians 3:28Galatians 3:29

“And this is the Promise that He (YHVH) Himself made to us: Eternal Life.” 1 John 2:25

For my eyes have seen Your Salvationwhich You have prepared in the sight of All people, a Light for revelation to the Gentiles (Goyim) and for glory to Your people Israel.”  Luke 2:30Luke 2:31Luke 2:32Acts 13:47; Isaiah 42:6Isaiah 49:6

Man’s Religion (Legalism) Vs The Way that Leads to Life

Image result for image of Romans 10:2, 3

Messiah, (Anointed of God) is the end/culmination/outcome, (Telos #5056) of the Law, (Nomos #3551) Righteousness to All the Faithful. Romans 10:4

Are You Worshiping Your Religion or Seeking Your Creator?

“I Was Born This Religion and I’ll Die This Religion.”  I’ve heard this statement come from the mouths of Catholics, Protestants, Jewish, Muslims, Hindus…Lets say God does decide which religious division you are to be born into, but God is not divided, God is One, Deuteronomy 6:4

Refusing to seek God beyond ones religion, or non-religion, is not seeking.

“But from there you will seek the LORD, (YHVH) your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29; Jeremiah 29:13 Matthew 7:7

Bad Translations Misrepresent God’s Word, Torah

When we read the word Law, in our English Bible translations, it can have up to three very different meanings.  Law can refer to Legalism, (man-made laws), Galatians 2:16; sometimes it refers to, The Curse of Sin and Death, Romans 8:2; and sometimes it’s referring to TorahMatthew 5:17.  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legalism_(theology)

The Hebrew word “Torah” can not be translated by one English word, and the word “Law” is a bad translation.  Torah is Spiritual/Lasting/Eternal/Forever… (Olam #5769).

We know that the Law (Torah) is Spiritual…” Romans 7:14; Isaiah 40:8…

Torah has a three letter root, YRH, meaning to flow, throw, show, or point in a Direction.  Torah #8451, is best translated as Teaching/Instruction.  Like a Loving Father to a child, shining a Light, (Or #216) in the Way/Direction of Truth and (Lasting) Life.

“For the commandment, (mitzvah #4687) is a lamp and the Teaching, (Torah #8451) is Light; And reproofs for discipline are the Way of Life.” Proverbs 6:23

Y’shua (Jesus) is Torah, and The Torah Became Flesh…

Over two thousand years ago Y’shua repeatedly denounced the religious leaders for adding heavy burdens to the True meaning of Torah.

“They (Religious experts) tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders…” Matthew 23:4

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28…

The Essence of Torah is Summed up by Love

“In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you.  For this is the essence of the Law (Torah) and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12

All the Law (Torah) and the Prophets” depend on these two commandments;”  Matthew 22:40(quoting from Torah…)

1.)  “You shall love the LORD (YHVH) your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:5

2.)  “You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD, (YHVH).” Leviticus 19:18

Man-Made Religions Add Their Own Traditions/Righteousness

“They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the traditions of men.’” Matthew 15:9

“Then the LORD, (YHVH) said, “… And their reverence for Me is taught by the commands/traditions, (mitzvah #4687) of men, (rote/repitions)” Isaiah 29:13

God’s Righteousness, (not Man’s) Leads to Life,

“In the Way of Righteousness is Life, And in its Pathway there is no death.” Proverbs 12:28

“For this is the Love of God, that we keep His Commandments. And His Commandments are not burdensome,” 1 John 5:3

We are All called out of the divisions of the world, to simple walk in the only Way that leads to Life.

Why All These Religious Divisions?

“God is One,”  Moses put it in writing, and every Torah observant person on earth knew this phrase was referring to the entire “Shema,” (hear and obey).  The Shema was on their heart, (memorized), and taught diligently to every child, while sitting in the house, when walking outside, before bed and upon rising.

The Shema

Hear, O Israel, (The Assembly of YHVH), YHVH is our God, (YHVH) is One!  “You shall love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mightDeuteronomy 6:4

“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up…Deuteronomy 6:5; Deuteronomy 6:6Deuteronomy 6:7

Y’shua, (Jesus) Declares The Shema as The Greatest Commandment

Y’shua, (Jesus) declared, “‘Love the Lord, (YHVH) your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, (might).’ Matthew 22:37; Mark 12:29
“This is the First and Greatest Commandment.” Matthew 22:38

Judaism, Christianity and Islam Agree God is One

All agree the Creator of the universe is the One and only true God.  All believe they are worshiping the Creator and not the things He created, Romans 1:25.  So when did all these, man-made, religious divisions originate?

The Religion of Judaism Claims to Be Synonymous With Israel

Y’shua came from the line of Judah, as prophesied in Scripture, Micah 5:2; Hebrews 7:14.

Judah is where the religious terms Jewish and Judaism come from, but when did the religion of Judaism originate?

Most ethno-religious Jewish sects began during the Hellenistic period, (323 BCE – 31 BCE), others with the addition of the Talmud, 400 A.D. but the Hasidics, (Pious) as recently as the 1800’s.

True Israel has always comprised a mixed multitude, and the Assembly of our Creator has always been All inclusive; Exodus 12:38Genesis 12:3

In the 1st Century A.D. Y’shua spoke against the religious experts of Torah for adding their own man-made laws, (legalism).

You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD, (YHvH) your God which I command you.”  Deuteronomy 4:2; Deuteronomy 12:32; Proverbs 30:6

“Woe to you as well, experts in the law, (Torah)!” He replied. “You weigh men down with heavy burdens, but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load.” Luke 11:46; Matthew 23:3; Matthew 23:4

Y’shua Did Not Found Chrisitianity

The only Scriptures Y’shua ever quoted from or expounded on, were The Torah, and the Prophets and Writings that matched its plum-line.

1st Century writings of the Apostles had not yet been compiled into the “New Testament.”

Y’shua definitely did not add nor take away anything from The Torah, on the contrary, He said this to those who do:

I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law, (Torah) until everything is accomplished. Matthew 5:18

“So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:19

Islam Claims Monopoly

Islam (Submission) originated in the 7th Century A.D.  Claiming to be the true religion of Allah, (God), it originates with Muhammad’s Quran, (The Recitation).  The religion claims, it is not a new religion but the only true religion.  Like the two previous religions, it begins with Adam, and asserts the Quran has re-expressed truth in it’s final form.

A Muslim is one who follows the teachings of Islam.  Muslims are taught the Torah Was for the Jews and the New Testament for the Christians.  So I hope the previous verse already cleared up that fallacy.  But here’s a new one, the Scriptures have been corrupted.

Can The Living, Unchanging, Perfect Word of our Creator be Corrupted?

The law, (Torah) of the LORD, (YHVH) is Perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD, (YHVH) is sure, making Wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7

“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the Living and Enduring Word of God, (Torah).” 1 Peter 1:23

“the Word of God, (Torah) is Living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,..Hebrews 4:12

Nope, Not according to the Bible or the Quran Either:

The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all. Surah 6:115 Al-An‘am (Cattle)

Rejected were the apostles before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those apostles. Surah 6:34 Al-An‘am (Cattle)

For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity. Surah 10:64 Yunus (Jonah)

And recite (and teach) what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord: none can change His Words, Surah 18:27 Al-Kahf (The Cave)

Say: “O People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord.” It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. Surah 5:68 Maida (The Table) (See also 4:136)

If thou art in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt. Surah 10:94 Yunus (Jonah)

“Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light” (Sura 5:44-46).

We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers,” (Sura 2:87).

And before thee also the apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realize this not, ask of those who possess the Message. Surah 16:43 An-Nahl (the Bee)

Before thee, also, the apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. Surah 21:7 Al-Anbiya’ (The Prophets)

We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms,” (4:163)

It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong), (3:3).

In conclusion, the reason we have so many religions is not because our Creator’s Truth has been corrupted, it’s because man has corrupted the Truth with his religions.

Yet All These Divisive Religions Believe God is One?

“They exchanged the Truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.” Romans 1:25

“O LORD, (YHVH) my strength and my stronghold, And my refuge in the day of distress, To You the nations will come From the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood/deception/lies, futility/vanity and things of no profit.” Jeremiah 16:19

Seeking the Only One who gives Spiritual/Lasting Life, is the One Way to find Him, Deuteronomy 4:29; Jeremiah 29:13; Proverbs 8:17Matthew 7:7…

Do You Understand “The Good News” Like Abraham Did?

“The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the gentiles/nations by faithfulness, and foretold the Good News to Abraham:  “All nations will be Blessed through you.”  Galatians 3:8

The Good News Predates all the worlds religious divisions, because it existed from the beginning.

Even those who say Y’shua, (Jesus), is The Good News, rarely understand the Spiritual Scriptures of Moses and the Prophets:

“and beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He (Y’shua) explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.” Luke 24:27; Genesis 3:15Genesis 12:3

“You, (religious experts) pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess Eternal Life. These are the very Words that Testify about Me, (Y’shua),  John 5:39.

Physical eyes cannot see, or perceive, the Spiritual Mystery of The Good News,  1 Peter 1:25Romans 7:14Revelation 14:6.

What Does The Good News of Salvation Mean?

David was the King of Israel, a Hebrew descendant from the tribe of Judah, (prior to Jewish religion), wrote Psalms about The Good News of Salvation, 1040-970 B.C.

“Sing to YHVH, bless His Name; Proclaim the Good News of His Salvation from day to day.” Psalm 96:2

Before David, Moses wrote the Words of Torah, (The Way of Truth and Life), giving us a physical picture of the Spiritual Good news.  Abraham, the first Hebrew, and father of all nations, knew, just as Noah and Adam and Eve.  They all died with hope in the Good news of *YHVH’s Salvation.

*For the meaning of YHVH; https://kaylened.wordpress.com/category/yhvh/

From the beginning, at the origin of the Curse, the consequence of Sin being Death, YHVH promised a Blessing.

“For as in Adam all die, so in Messiah all will be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:22

A Curse = Death, A Blessing = Life

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you Life and death, the Blessing and the curse. So choose Life in order that you may Live, you and your descendants,” Deuteronomy 30:19Jeremiah 21:8

Adam and Eve put their trust in YHVH’s promise, someday a Woman’s “Seed” would have victory over death.

“And I will put enmity between you, (the serpent=satan) and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall crush your head, (satan=death)…” Genesis 3:15

“The God of Peace will soon crush satan, (the serpent=death) under your feet…” Romans 16:20

“For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feetThe last enemy to be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:26

*”Under Your Feet,”  “Crush your Head,” “make your enemy a footstool,” these Hebrew idioms portray Victory.   Picture a Victorious King standing with His feet on the back of his enemies head, Joshua 10:242 Samuel 22:41Hebrews 1:13.

The Good News Is Salvation From Death

How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings Good News, (Basar #1319), to proclaim/hear and do, (Shama #8085) Peace, (Shalom #7965), bringing News, (Basar #1319) of Good. (Tov #2896b), to proclaim/hear and do, (Shama #8085) Salvation/Victory/Deliverance, (Yeshua #3444) And say to Tzion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

Translation difficulties and bias have been the cause of unnecessary obscurity, but the original Hebrew is very clear:

Shama, is translated; proclaim, announce… but it also means; Hear, Listen, Do, Obey.

Shalom, means so much more than peace, it’s Complete Wholeness, Health, Security, Safety, being made Right, the opposite of everything wrong.

Tov, means, Everything Good, as opposed to everything Bad.

Y’shua, you may recognize as the original Hebrew name of Jesus.  It means Salvation, Deliverance, Victory, Help…The full name, Y’hoshua, (Joshua) means YHVH is Salvation.

Y’shua’s Full Name, Y’hoshua, Means “YHVH’s Salvation”

“Everyone who calls on the Name of  YHVH will be saved.” Romans 10:13Acts 2:21; quoting, Joel 2:32

“And how can they proclaim unless they are sent?  As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!” Romans 10:15; quoting Isaiah 52:7.

Salvation Means Inheriting Spiritual Life on the New Earth

“Therefore Messiah (the Promised Seed) is the mediator of a re-newed covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised Eternal (Spiritual) Inheritance, now that He has died to redeem them from the transgressions, (curse of Sin and Death) committed under the first covenant.”  Hebrews 9:15

“YHVH knows the days of the Blameless, (Tamim #8549): and their Inheritance shall be Forever, (Spiritual).  Psalm 37:18

Image result for image of first Adam last Adam

“So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam a Life-giving Spirit.”  1 Corinthians 15:45

“Blessed are the humble, for they will Inherit the earth, (Not this earth. The Lasting/Spiritual/Eternal Life is on the reNEWed earth).” Matthew 5:5Psalm 37:9; Psalm 37:11

The Ambiguous Meaning of Salvation

If you live in the Western world you’ve probably been asked religious questions like, “are you saved?” and “when did you receive your salvation?”  These questions were like grains of irritation to me.  Like grains of sand that had made their way into the meat of an oyster shell, they can eventually become our most beautiful pearls.

It was my lack of understanding that kept me silently frustrated when I heard the phrase, “I’m saved.”  It just didn’t set right that salvation could sound like a box we’d checked off after our first confession, when we said,  “I believe and accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior,” before getting baptized.saved

Although I Understand These Are The Biblical Answers to The Question;

“What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

“if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

Salvation Revealed In The Original Hebrew Scriptures

Thanks to the impartial promise of our Creator’s Word, those who seek Him do find Him, Deuteronomy 4:29;   Matthew 7:7.   And these days He even guides us in the search engines of Google.  The day I discovered the Hebrew Lexicon at Biblehub.com, I knew it was an answer to my prayer for greater understanding.

For instance, it helped me realize how word choices, culture and religious bias have their influence on translation.

When there are several English word equivalents, used interchangeably for the same Hebrew word, readers lose their cues to connect that word or phrase in other passages.

All translation require conjecture in order to convey meaning, especially when an ancient expression doesn’t exist or carry over into another language.

Translating means changing, no matter how closely one is able to transfer a meaning and modify word syntax into the readable form of another language.

Today everyone has access to the Hebrew lexicon.  Anyone, who has the desire to know and understand the original Hebrew Scriptures, can begin prayerfully meditating on their Word meanings and making the Spiritual connections that evade translation, Romans 7:14.

YHVH’s (He Exists) is Salvation

The Hebrew word translated into English as Salvation is Yeshuah.  It comes from the root Yasha, the same root in the name Yehoshua, (Jesus) which means, YHVH + Yasha, He Exists is Salvation.

Matthew 1:21

Matthew 1:21

Yasha and its different forms can be translated:  Deliverance, Victory, to Avenge, Preservation, Prosperity, Help, Rescue, Safety, Security, to Save, Salvation…

Salvation Always Was “The Good News”

“May Your Merciful Loving Kindnesses, (Chesed #2617a from Chasad) also come to me, YHVH,(He Exists) Your Salvation, (Teshuah #8668 from Yasha) according to Your Word, (Imrah #559 from Amar).  Psalm 119:41

“How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings Good News, Who announces peace And brings Good News of happiness, Who announces Salvation, And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7Romans 10:15

The Spirit of The Lord YHVH, (HeExists) is upon me, Because YHVH has anointed me To bring good news to the humble/afflicted, (anav #6035); He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty/release, (deror #1865) to captives And freedom to prisoners; Isaiah 61:1

Y’shua, the shortened form of Y’hoshua, explained all that was written about Himself in the Scriptures.  The Scriptures He was referring to were called Moses, (Torah) the Prophets and Writings.  In Hebrew these words form the acronym T.N.K, pronounced, TaNaK.   Today we call The Scriptures, The “Old” Testament.

“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all The Scriptures (The Tanak) about Himself.” Luke 24:27

Promised From The Beginning

“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise/overwhelm, (shuph #7779) you on the head, And you shall bruise/overwhelm him on the heel.” Genesis 3:15

Looking at Genesis 3:15 with ancient Hebrew symbolism we see more than the curse or the fate that will come to the serpent, (representing satan, YHVH’s adversary).  This is a prophecy, a promise of what will happen, spoken to the serpent and his seed or offspring, meaning all who are adversary’s of YHVH.

Notice the words, “you,” and “your” are addressing the serpent, (satan).  Their will be enmity, (ebah #342) between your seed, (satan) and the woman and her Seed, (children of YHVH).

“And the dragon, (serpent) was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony, (word) of Jesus, (Salvation)” Revelation 12:17

The Victory Stance!

The Seed of the woman will,  “overwhelm the head of the serpent.” Can you envision this ancient Hebrew idiom of a triumphant king, victoriously standing with his foot on the head of His enemy?

“The God of Peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” Romans 16:20

This symbolism of Victory even carries over into Greek and English!

“YHVH your God is in your midst, A Victorious/Savior, (Yasha #3467) warrior/prevailer, (gibbor #1368).  He will exult over you with joy, He will be silent/rest in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” Zephaniah 3:17

Victory Over Satan Is Salvation

Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Noah, Abraham, Moses and King David, to name a few, all died believing in their Salvation, the promise of the Victorious Seed.

All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised.” Hebrews 11:13

Today we can look back on all the Scriptural prophecies of the promised Seed who would bless All peoples of the earth, Genesis 22:18 and know that Seed is Y’hoshua, (YHVH’s Salvation).

WordBecameFlesh1

“You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,” John 5:39

Y’hoshua is the Word, John 1:1.  The Word became flesh and dwelt with us, John 1:14.  He overcame every test of satan, victoriously conquering death, He purposely resurrected to lasting Life on the third day of First-Fruits, assuring us the rest of the harvest would also be blessed.  (See The Promise of The Seed Who Would Bless All Nations/People).

Victory over satan, (also known as our evil inclination) has been the true meaning of salvation/release/freedom/victory since Cain was warned that it would master him if he didn’t master it, Genesis 4:7

“Do not be like Cain, who belonged to, (mastered by) the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his brother were righteous.” 1 John 3:12.

All people have been separated from the Spirit of their Creator by their iniquitiesRomans 3:23, and All people are in need of Salvation/Life, because Death is separation.

“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”  Isaiah 59:2.

He Brings Salvation At His Second Coming

“so also Christ, (Messiah) was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.” Hebrews 9:28

Dead People Can’t Eat From The Tree Of Life

YHVH, in His Mercy, made sure Adam and Eve did not eat from the Tree of Life in their fallen state and live in death forever.

Then YHVH God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the Tree of Life, and eat, and live forever…” Genesis 3:22,23.

God’s Merciful Compassion makes us alive, (born again) through/in Christ/Messiah, even when we were dead, (separated) in our trespasses/iniquities/sin.  It is by grace/His favor you have been saved, (from sin and death)! Ephesians 2:5; Colossians 2:13; Ephesians 5:14Isaiah 26:19

Righteousness Is The Beautiful Pearl of Salvation

Whether we understand or not, mankind’s freedom from death, (sin) equals New Spiritual Life/Righteousness.  An ancient Hebrew illustration for “New Life,” is a “Clean Robe,”  Our outer covering represent “our actions.”  This is revealed in the following verse:

She, (The Bride) was given clothing of fine linen,” linen bright and pure. For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints/the set apart/holy. Revelation 19:8.

Before our “New Life,” (when we were dead in our sin) and even our righteous actions were like, “Filthy Rags,” Isaiah 64:6;  Zechariah 3:3.

Righteous acts, is the Hebrew word, Tzedakah #6666.  This is the hidden pearl that has always been, still is and will be, The only Way to Lasting Life

“In the Way of Righteousness, (Tzedakah) is Life, And in its pathway there is no death.” Proverbs 12:28

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, (the victorious) so that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter the city by its gates.” Revelation 22:14

“To the one who is Victorious, (those who acted right) I will grant the right to eat of the Tree of Life in the paradise of God.”  Revelation 2:7

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (YHVH our Salvation, the Messiah!) 1 Corinthians 15:57

To Be Clothed in His Righteousness Is Life

So now when I hear someone say, “I’m saved,”  I understand why today’s religious lingo has never been a pre-requisite for Salvation.  People have been dying with their hope in the Creator’s promise since the beginning, long before our language and religious divisions.

We know, “God is One.”  There is no division in His Spirit.  Those who bear the glory of “His Name,” are called His children.  His children are those who walk in Freedom from their bondage to sin and death.  His Torah has always been The Way to Truth and Life.

Y’hoshua revealed, He is The Way, The Truth and The Life, John 14:6,  and He gave All peoples very clear instructions to, “follow Him,” John 12:26.

“Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus, (Y’shua) walked.  Beloved, I am not writing you a new commandment, but an old one, which you have had from the beginning.” 1 John 2:6.

“This is the message you have heard from the beginning:  We should love one another. 1 John 3:11

We know that we have passed from death to Life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.” 1 John 3:14

The Way of Life Is Righteousness, Which Is Summed Up As Love

Righteousness is Who He Is, it is our Creator’s Character and it describes the Attributes of those who walk in the way that leads to Life.  Man is able to come up with countless definitions for righteousness but Y’shua summed it up simply by quoting these two commands from Torah:

“‘Love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.’ Deuteronomy 6:4,5.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  Leviticus 19:18.  All the Torah and the Prophets depend/hang on these two commandments.”… Matthew 22:37; Matthew 22:40

“The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor (one another) as yourself.” Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law, (Torah) Romans 13:10; Leviticus 19:18

Those who are not clothed in the Righteousness of our Creator’s Love do not have Life.

“keep yourselves in the Love, (Righteousness), of God as you await the Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, (YHVH’s Salvation, the Messiah) to bring you eternal LifeJude 1:21

Parable of The Mustard Seed

mustard-seed

Jesus put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field.  Although it is one of the least of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of herb plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and dwell in its branches.” Matthew 13:31

The Mustard Seed is The Third Kingdom Parable found in Matthew 13

Jesus, Y’shua, interjects this parable, (a physical example revealing a Spiritual reality) right between the parable of The Wheat and The Weeds and it’s explanation.

Unlike the first two parables, there are no more explanations.  All we know for sure are the facts disclosing another unseen or spiritual mystery of the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is like…

Our first detail is a tiny mustard seed:  Based on the other two explanations we knot the seed represents the The Word, The Message of the Kingdom and The Sons of the Kingdom.

The man sowing the seed:  Is the Son of Adam, a phrase referring to Y’shua.

His field:  Is the earth.

The Birds of the sky/air dwell in it’s branches:  In the previous Parable of the Sower, the birds represent satan snatching away the Truth.  These verses referring to birds also confirm this view: Revelation 18:2; Daniel 4:21; Isaiah 13:21.

Interestingly, the birds in this parable find protection, shelter and nourishment from the Mustard tree, similar the birds dwelling in the Cedar, Psalm 104:17.

The same parable of the birds dwelling in the Cedar is found here:  Ezekiel 17:23Ezekiel 31:6.

In the book of Daniel the parable of the great tree is interpreted as representing King Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian Empire,  Daniel 4:22.  The birds dwelling in it’s branches were neither good nor bad.  The point was their habitation, to the end of the known earth, was under his dominion.

It is the Growth of the Mustard Seed that seems to be significant in this parable.  This tiny seed grows like a weed, gardeners know not to plant it in their gardens because it cannot be contained and would eventually take over the entire garden.

This extraordinary, inevitable and fruitful growth is what the Kingdom is like.

The birds, in this parable, dwell or nest in its branches.  mustard-tree

Why All People Need to Know Their Creator’s Apointed Days

Yes, they are His Appointed Days, Leviticus 23:2…and The Day of Atonement is the 10th day of the 7th Lunar Month, Leviticus 23:27

day-of-atonement

“for it is on this Day that Atonement shall be made for you to cleanse you; you will be clean from all your sins before the LORD, (YHVH).” Leviticus 16:30

The Day of Judgement is also The Day of Atonementwhat-does-atonement-mean-copy

Atonement, comes from the Hebrew root word, Kopher, (#3724), it literally means, CoverLike Noah was instructed to Cover, (Kaphar #2722b) the Ark in pitchGenesis 6:14

“The Mercy Seat” is The “Cover” on the Ark of the Covenant

“You shall put The Mercy Seat, (Kapporeth #3727) on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony (The Ten Commandments) which I will give to you.  Exodus 25:21; Hebrews 9:5

“He shall put the incense on the fire before YHVH, that the cloud of incense may conceal (#3680 Kasah) The Mercy Seat (#3727)… Leviticus 16:13

To have Mercy and To Cover, the Hebrew verb Kaphar, (3722), depict; to Atone, to Reconcile, to Redeem, to Repair, to make Propitiation, to expiate, to Pardon, to Forgive, to Give Mercy, to Pay a debt, such as the price of a life, to Ransom…

Yom Kippur (#3725) means, Day of Atonement, which is, one and the same as The Day of JudgementBoth Mercy and Judgement will be given, sometime in the future, on this day.

For Judgment without Mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been Merciful.  Mercy triumphs over Judgment. .James 2:13

Mercy is Only Given to Those Who Give Mercy:

“Blessed are the Merciful, for they will be shown Mercy.” Matthew 5:7

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.”  Matthew 6:14; Matthew 6:15; Mark 11:26

“…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.” Matthew 25:40

“For the Son of Man will come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.” Matthew 16:27; Matthew 18:35; 2 Timothy 4:14; Psalm 62:12;  Jeremiah 32:19; Romans 2:6; Job 34:11; Proverbs 12:14; Proverbs 24:12; Revelation 2:23

A “Fast Day,” Meaning, to Afflict Your Soul, (Physical Appetites)

“This shall be a permanent statute for you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall humble, (Anah #6031)) your souls and not do any work, whether the native, or the alien who sojourns among you; Leviticus 16:29

‘Then on the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall humble (Anah) yourselves; you shall not do any work.” Numbers 29:7

“The Fast” is used as a Synonym for “Day of Atonement”

“By now much time had passed, and the voyage had already become dangerous because it was after The Fast, (Day of Atonement) So Paul advised them,”  Acts 27:9; Leviticus 23:27

We are The Temple of His (Eternal) Spirit

“Do you not know that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God?”  1 Corinthians 6:19

The (Spiritual/Eternal) Temple of Y’shua’s Body

“But Jesus was speaking about the Temple of His Body.” John 2:21

The Truth of His Everlasting Word Cleanses Us

‘The sum of Your Word is Truth, And every one of Your Righteous ordinances is Everlasting, (Spiritual).Psalm 119:160

Sanctify/Cleanse them by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.” John 17:17; Ephesians 5:26

Y’shua is The (Eternal/Everlasting/Spiritual) Word, John 1:1; Romans 7:14.  He is The Word that spoke everything into existence; He is our Promised Eternal Inheritance.  Our Lasting Life on the New Earth, Hebrews 9:15; Psalm 37:18 (the revealed Physical Covenant was a (temporary) shadow/picture of the Spiritual, (Lasting) Inheritance of Life on the New Eretz.

“By the Word of YHVH the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.” Psalm 33:6;  Genesis 1:3; Psalm 33:9Psalm 148:5; Psalm 104:30; Hebrews 11:3; Lamentations 3:37…

Mercy is The Essence of His Perfect, Spiritual Word

“In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law (Torah) and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12

Obedient, Merciful, Faithful Loving Kindness is the sum of our Creator’s Torah, (Torah means, the Light of His Instructions that direct us in the Way of Life).

1.) “You shall Love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:5 Matthew 22:37Mark 12:30Luke 10:27

2.) “You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall Love your Neighbor (one another) as yourself; I am YHVH.”  Leviticus 19:18

“All the Law (Torah) and the Prophets”depend/hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:40

Until We Receive Mercy We Remain Separated From His Spirit/Dead

Because our iniquities (guilt of sin) have separated between us from our (Spiritual/Unseen) CreatorIsaiah 59:2

We do not have the luxury of holding onto hateful grudges, bitterness, offenses, negativity or partiality if we claim to be Saved.

Salvation is True Freedom/Deliverance/Healing, Wholeness and the fruit of Spiritual Life shows by our Love for one anotherJohn 13:351 John 3:14.  Only those who Hear and obey, Psalm 18:44, will receive the Promised, Spiritual Lasting Life; Acts 8:23; Psalm 25:13; Matthew 5:5Psalm 37:11Psalm 37:9; Psalm 69:36.

The 10 Days of Preparation

During the ten days between, the Day of Trumpets, and Day of Atonement, we have time to prepare.  It’s time to do some soul searching in the Light of His Spiritual Word of Truth.

Just like King David, we ask to be searched and we listen as we are made aware of our offensive ways.  Then we choose to obediently repent, turning to the Way that leads to Everlasting/Spiritual Life,  Psalm 139:24.

The faithful, (loyal) remnant will begin fasting/afflicting their souls at sundown, exactly ten days after the Day of Trumpets.  The Fast is more than simply denying our appetites of food and water, the result of a true fast will humble us in the way Isaiah describes here: Isaiah 58:6-Isaiah 58:9.
