Thank you for taking the time to click on my page. My name is Lisa Kaylene Dongell, and I go by Kay.

I began writing Light of the World in 2011. This is where I share what I’m learning as I search for Truth – Directly from the Spirit of Truth, John 16:13.

The intention of everything I write is to encourage others to do the same.

In short, my search has led me to the Original, Hebrew, Scriptures. The Word our Creator defined as Truth, Psalm 119:142,160; Matthew 5:18…

Sanctify (to be Set-apart) them in the Truth; Your Word Is Truth, John 17:17.

The rest of this post, and everything I write, is about the Everlasting, Complete, Unfading, Living and Active, Holy, Righteous and Good, Instructions; תּוֹרָה Torah of *YHVH; He Is, He Was, He Shall Be/Exist.

Don’t believe in a Creator, or His Word? Since Creation mankind is without excuse, because the Unseen Reality of our Creator can be observed by what He has made, Romans 1:20.

Even the most devout Religious Experts, like Paul, his Hebrew name Shaul (who wrote 2/3rds of the New Testament), have had to realign their life-long religious opinions when they seek *YHVH Directly, Galatians 1:15,16,17.

But if from there you will Seek יְהוָֹה *YHVH (הָיָה Hayah – to Exist) your God (אֱלהִים Elohim – אֵל Eil), you will Find Him, if you Seek Him with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29; Proverbs 8:17; Matthew 7:7; James 1:5; Jeremiah 29:13…

It has humbled my lack of questions to Ask for Truth Directly from my Spiritual Father:

For Everyone who Asks Receives; he who Seeks Finds; and to him who Knocks, the Door will be Opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in Heaven give Good to those who ask Him!

Start at the Beginning

I know from personal experience where a wholehearted Search for Truth will lead. It was the last place I wanted to look, so I knew the idea of Studying the Bible from the Beginning did not come from me.

I wasn’t Aware that I had an aversion, until I noticed myself arguing – with myself.

I didn’t want to waste any time studying the “Old” Testament. I heard the translations were Corrupt. Why would I study something that was Abolished on the Cross? I’ve already read it, there’s too much I don’t understand…

When I became Aware that I was so adamantly resisting something, I obediently picked up my Bible. It felt like I had to break through that wall of lies before I could start studying Genesis; In the Beginning.

That Awareness was Silent. It can be brushed away, and very easily ignored. It taught me to recognize, and pay closer attention to, what I now believe is the Voice of the Holy (Set-apart) Spirit; *YHVH.

Contrary to The Lies we have All Inherited, we should not be afraid to “open our minds” to Seek Truth Directly from our Heavenly Father; *YHVH, Jeremiah 16:19; Matthew 19:17.

Our Heavenly Father freely gives His Eternal Spirit of Wisdom to All who Ask, and without finding fault, James 1:5; Deuteronomy 10:12; Isaiah 8:12; 44:2; 51:7, 54:4…

With Search Engines like Biblehub.com anyone can study the original Hebrew Language, in Context. Learning about Ancient History, and Linguistics, became my new passion, and eventually led me to study the original, pre-Babylonian, Hebrew Pictographs, or Picture Letters.

For example, the original letter, רֵשׁ Resh, was originally the picture of a Persons Head , and the word, רֹאשׁ Rosh, means Head. Figuratively the Head represents what is the Top Most, Highest, Haughty, Most Important, Chief, King, Sum, Summit, Beginning, Firstborn…

רֹאשׁ Rosh, also happens to be the Primitive Hebrew Verb Root, that makes up the very first Hebrew word of the Bible, בְּ-רֵאשִׁ֖-ית Be-resh-yit, meaning In – Beginning…

Only the Spirit of Wisdom knows exactly how to dismantle the lies we believe, by leading us back to the Beginning; רֵאשִׁית Reshyt.

They exchanged the Truth of God for a Lie, and worshiped and served the created thing rather than the Creator, Who Is Forever Worthy of Praise! Amen. Romans 1:25.

What is Truth?

…Your תּוֹרָה Torah Is Truth, Psalm 119:142.

The Torah of *YHVH Is Truth. This single fact continues to humble me.

As I study the original Hebrew Scriptures I become even more Aware of just how much I have been influenced by family, culture, peers, community, and those I deemed to be the “Experts.”

King David was called “a man after My own heart.” Not because he was super human. It was simply because he Kept Watch Over,שָׁמַר Shamar, the Commandments and Statutes of *YHVH, 1 Kings 11:34; 1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22.

When we Turn from the lies of the world, and begin to Hear and Do, שָׁמַע Shama’a, what our Creator calls the Way of Life, we are called Qodesh; Holy, or Set-apart, from the world.

Like King David, we can also Ask *YHVH Directly for Counsel and Correction:

I will בָרַךְ Barak; Bless יְהוָֹה; *YHVH, Who יָעַץ Ya’atz; Counsels me, also יָסַר Yasar; Chastens my כִּלְיָה Kilyah; Kidneys/Reigns in the בָרַךְ Layil; night. Psalm 16:7

Reality Is Complete, כָּלָה Kalah. The end has been made conspicuous from the beginning, Isaiah 46:10; Genesis 2:1.

For since the creation of the world God’s Invisible Qualities, His Eternal Power and Divine nature, have been Clearly Seen, being Understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20

How Do We Receive a New Heart?

But to this day יְהוָֹה *YHVH has not given you a Heart (לֵב Lev) to Know (יָדַע Yada’a) or eyes to See (רָאָה Raah) or ears to Hear and Do (שָׁמַע Shema’a), Deuteronomy 29:4; Matthew 13:13; Acts 28:26; Romans 11:8; Isaiah 6:9…

The Word of Truth has a lot to say about the Heart, and it is the opposite of what the world says:

It is Deceitful beyond all else, Without Cure, its every inclination is Bad from youth, it Goes Astray, it is Uncircumcised, easily Deceived, not Knowing the Ways of *YHVH, nor His Rest… Isaiah 53:6; Jeremiah 17:9; Psalm 95:6-11; Hebrews 3:11; 4:3, 5; Genesis 2:2; 6:5; 8:21; Leviticus 26:41; Acts 7:51; Colossians 2:13…

…Make the Hearts of this people calloused; deafen their ears and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” Isaiah 6:10; Matthew 13:15; Deuteronomy 29:4; Acts 28:27

How do we know when we have received a New Heart? When *YHVH puts His Spirit within us, we will walk in His Statutes, and Keep Watch Over, שָׁמַר Shamar His Ordinances! Ezekiel 36:26, 27; Jeremiah 31:33; John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 3:3.

To have a New Heart is also known as being Born Again. 1 Peter 1:23; John 1:13; 3:3

When we are Born Again we will be given a Heart to Know, and Eyes to See, or Perceive, and Ears to Hear and Do… Deuteronomy 29:4.

We know that we have passed out of death into Life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 1 John 3:14 ESV

His Way Is Unblemished

…as for אֵל El, His Way (דֶּרֶךְ Derek – דָּרַךְ Darak) is Unblemished (תָּמִים Tamim – תָּמַם Tamam); the Word (אִמְרָה Imrah – אָמַר Amar) of יְהוָֹה *YHVH (הָיָה Hayah) is Proven (צָרַף Tzarph), Psalm 18:30.

The Good News will be apparent to All mankind when the Curse of Death is swallowed up in Victory, Isaiah 25:8; 1 Corinthians 15:54.

Then we will All Know Him, and those of us who have Severed ourselves from mankind will be glad that we put our Trust Directly in the Spirit of Truth, Jeremiah 31:34; John 6:45; Hebrews 8:11…

Sever (חָדַל CHadal) yourselves from Man/Mankind (אָדָם Adam), who has only the Breath (נְשָׁמָה Neshamah) in his nostrils. Of what account is he? Isaiah 2:22; Psalm 118:8; 144:4; Jacob 4:14

Do Not put your Trust in Princes/Nobels (נָדִיב Nadib), in a Son/Child (בֵּן Ben) of Man/Mankind (אָדָם Adam), in whom there is No Salvation (תְּשׁוּעָה Teshuah). Psalm 146:3; Jeremiah 17:5

Is the Torah Jewish?

Ask someone who is Jewish and they will say Yes. This is a good example of how semantics morph over time, and it gets confusing. How did the nation of Israel become synonymous with the Jews?

First, we need to know the Biblical History behind the tribe of Judah. In Hebrew יְהוּדָה Yehudah means, I will Praise *YHVH, Genesis 29:35.

He was the fourth son of Jacob. The only son who received the Blessing of the Scepter/Staph, that will not depart until Shiloh comes (a messianic title), Genesis 49:10.

His inherited land became called Judea, meaning place of the Jews, place of the Praisers.

When the nation of Israel divided into Southern and Northern Kingdoms, the Northern Kingdom was lost to the Assyrians: https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-two-kingdoms-of-israel. 

This is how the Southern Kingdom Israel became synonymous with the Jews.

Our Creator has revealed His Purpose for bringing forth the nation of Israel, and for preserving the Tribe of Judah. He will fulfil His prophesy of the Seed (Singular), will Bless All Nations, Genesis 22:18; Galatians 3:16.

He has not forgotten His Lost Sheep of the House of Israel:

His Eternal Messiah said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 15:24

Our Creator did not replace His children Israel. He did Not rename them, or lead them away from His Everlasting Torah.

He said, do not to think I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets… Matthew 5:17.

The Word of *YHVH prophesies about the Seed from the Beginning. Adam and Eve knew there would be a Seed who would crush the serpents head. This is the Seed that was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, Genesis 3:15…

There is One Torah. Not one for the Jews, and a Noahide Law for the non-Jewish.

Israel became a “Mixed Multitude.” The sojourners were instructed to join Israel, not start their own religion, because in the end All Israel will be Saved, Exodus 12:38; Romans 11:23.

There shall be One תּוֹרָה Torah for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you.” Exodus 12:49

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all One in Messiah Yehoshua. Galatians 3:28

He Draws us with Unfailing-Loving-Kindness

I was in my late thirties when I experienced something so Good I still have difficulty putting into words. Learning Hebrew has helped me identify it as a Glimpse of חֵסֵד CHesed; Unfailing-Merciful-Loving-Kindness.

I had just started going back to church, and I was sitting in the back listening to the Pastor speaking about God’s Love. It seemed like his words were going right into my heart, in a way that felt Powerful enough to crumble a concrete wall.

It was so overwhelming that tears began to flood out of my eyes. Normally I would have gotten up and left before anyone could see the mascara running down my face. Instead, I got up and walked down to the front of the Church, where people were headed to re-dedicate their lives to God.

I was beyond stunned, as a lady prayed and then handing me a Bible. I still don’t fully understand what happened, but I did begin to question all my warped opinions about God.

At the time I believed in God, but I did not think He was Good, and I knew nothing about His Unfailing-merciful-loving-kindness (חֵסֵד CHesed), Compassion (רַחַם RaCHam), or Eternal Love (אַהֲבָה Ahavah).

Now I can say I Know Him, because I Know His Word. He Is Good, and He works All things together for Good… I’m living proof that He draws us with His Eternal (עוֹלָם Olam) Love (אַהֲבָה Ahavah), and Unwavering Goodness (חֵסֵד CHesed), Jeremiah 31:3; John 6:44; Romans 8:28.

…the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor Knows Him. You Know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17

The Torah of *YHVH is Unblemished

The תּוֹרָה Torah of יְהוָֹה *YHVH is Unblemished (תָּמִים Tamim – תָּמַם Tamam); Returning (שׁוּב Shoov) the Soul (נֶפֶשׁ Nephesh)… Psalm 19:7

His Word (דָבָר Dabar) defines His Ways (דֶּרֶךְ Derek), Prescribes (חֹק CHoq) His Commandments (מִצְוָה Mitzvah), His Just (צֶדֶק Tzedeq) Judgements (מִשְׁפָט Mishpat), His Testimonies (עֵדָה Edah), His Precepts (פִקּוּד Piqqud), His Blessing of Life, and Curse of Death, and He instructs us to Choose Life, Deuteronomy 30:19.

The תּוֹרָה Torah of *YHVH includes every physical pattern Moses was instructed to make. It reveals the wonders of its Spiritual Reality, i.e. the promised Seed/Son, Bread, Stone, Messiah, who is mankind’s Renewed Spiritual Life, Exodus 25:40; Acts 7:44; Hebrews 8:5.

Spiritual Reality Exists. It is the Light of Life and Everything Good. The Spirit of the Eternal Messiah, that existed before the foundation of the world, and holds everything together, Genesis 1:3; John 1:1, 4; Proverbs 8:22; Colossians 1:17, Psalm 19:7; 119:160: James 1:18; John 17:17.

Open my eyes, that I may behold Wondrous things out of Your תּוֹרָה Torah. Psalm 119:18

To Know our Creator’s Word is a matter of Life and Death. It teaches us how to Discern between the two, and how to Know the difference between the words of a True and a False Prophet; spokesperson.

 See that you do everything I command you; do not add to it or subtract from it… Deuteronomy 12:32

…For יְהוָֹה *YHVH, your God, is Testing you to find out whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 13:3. 

I want to be like a Noble Minded Berean

They didn’t put blind faith in anyone’s word. Instead, they searched the Torah and Prophets daily, to see what was true, Acts 17:11.

Below is my short list of doctrines that I’ve tested to see if they Subtract from, and Add to, the Complete Torah of *YHVH. I hope it encourages others to take an object look at what they believe:

1. Who Subtracted our Eternal Creator’s definition of Himself; *YHVH Is One; אֶחָד ECHad, and Added, God is a Trinity; Three in One? Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10; Mark 12:29; 1 Timothy 2:5; Galatians 3:20; Romans 3:30; James 2:19.

Redefining the innumerable Oneness of *YHVH was made official by Constantine in 325 A.D., at the councils of Nicaea.

  4. Hi, so what do we make of the apostle Paul’s writings? I am wrestling with so much of these questions. What I mean is I believe that Paul saw Jesus Yeshua, was converted. But Paul also called the law the ministry of death. So how do we wrap our minds around this?

    1. What a great question! When I wrote “Did Grace Abolish Torah?” I noticed Paul contrasting the law of sin and death with the law of Spirit and Life, Romans 8:2; the letter that kills with the Spirit that gives Life, 2 Corinthians 3:6; Condemnation with Righteousness, 2 Corinthians 3:9… We know the 10 Commandments define Righteousness, which is the way of life, Proverbs 12:28. In contrast to the Spirit is the ministry of death, written on stone, see Jeremiah 17:1; Ezekiel 11:19; 36:26… I hope this gives you a good start to you study, Blessings.

I just stumbled upon this blog, doing a study of Holy, but now I know it was more than that; I go to a traditional christian church, but my background is christian fundamentalists, sabbath keeping, holy days, etc…, they left Christ out and we all broke up, but I still keep the passover, with Yehoshua (Jesus) in the middle, and I miss keeping the feast of tabernacles, I use to still keep Roshashana, probably spelled wrong, and Yum Kipper, with messianic jews, but not any more; I cringe still at the doctrine of the “trinity”, and “eternal hell fire” which neither of which are biblical, but I have no where to go. I attend church in Panorama City California, and although they hold those false doctrines as true, I attend there because they have a Seminary and strong teaching on the “equipping of the saints,” and the purpose of the church, everyone is sincere, but there are some things that I will never believe, like the hell stuff and the trinity; I have a degree in cinema, and do small projects and I am currently working on a film showing the relationship between the false gods Ancient Israel worshipped, the idols that Kings Hezekiah, and Josiah destroyed, and the cleansing of the temple by Judas Maccabee and Jesus and christmas and easter, at christmas and easter time I stay home, I have not kept those days in more than 30 years and will never keep them; they don’t honor my Savior, and I believe He is the one moving me to make this film; but it will be a shocker and could bring a strong backlash from the Christian world;

    Never the less, you are a blessing to me, I just kept the passover here on the 15 of April, alone, and it was beautiful, going with Christ to the cross, knowing I am resurrected with him in knew ness of life; that he stands guard of me, not letting come to me, causing it to “skip” over. me, so blessed

    I have not kept the sabbath in a long time, we did it in that fundamentalist church like legalistic, I lost my career as a result, that was a long time ago now, it’s over, but I know a small group back in South Carolina that still keeps the holy days, but even to this day they don’t honor Yehoshua, (Jesus) they miss him, and it shows in their efforts to be justified by the law, –the law which points us to Christ,

    1. Thank you for letting me know Elmore. It is a blessing every time I meet someone who is searching for Truth with all their heart and soul. I know how isolating it can feel when the Spirit of Truth actually leads us away from our manmade traditions so we can return to the Everlasting, Complete, Living, and Active Word. The Word who always has been and will be Christ, or Messiah. That isolation is what strengthened my dependence on prayer and Bible study. There is also a time to gather together, especially on the Holy Days. Since no two human beings agree on everything it is the very thing that reveals our pride and teaches us how to be humble. I am grateful to hear about the film you are making and that you stumbled onto my blog. Blessings on all you are doing for the Kingdom.

  8. Sha loam, my question is when the Most High told us HIS name in Exodus 3:13-15 “AHAYA”, why do we address HIM by other unpronounceable names someone ‘found’ 1500 years later in a desert cave?

    1. Thank you for your comment. I believe the original pronunciation of our Spiritual Creator’s Name is a moot dispute. I am so thankful He described the Eternal meaning of His Name. We all agree that He Exists. When He said I Am (הָיָה Hayah), in Exodus 3:14, it means He Was, He Is, He Shall Be. To avoid any arguements about the most ancient Hebrew accent I refer to the Eternal Name as Yah because the suffix form of יְהוָֹה is undisputed. If you do a word search of Yah at Biblehub.com it shows how many times the shortened form of the Name is used. When it is attached to the end of a word it is still pronounced Yah: HalleluYah, YirmeYah (Jerimiah), EliYah (Elijah), TobiYah (Tobias), ZekerYah (Zechariah), ZebedYah (Zebediah), TzephanYah (Zephaniah)… What is most important is to find a way to stay in Shalom, Shalom, Isaiah 26:3.

    If possible can you give some insight?

    1. Thank you for asking. I see it as just one way of referring to the many ways Elohim shows Himself to mankind. The “small face” would be the Angel of YHVH, the Pillar of Cloud, Fire, the Rock that followed them in the wilderness, 1 Corinthians 10:4…

    1. Thank you for your question. They are One and the same. YHVH’s Name has been removed from Scripture. The full Name of Yashua (Salvation) is Yehoshua (YHVH Is Salvation). He came in the Name, Matthew 23:39; Psalm 118:26, we just can’t see it in our translations. I pray to the Father, who I know came as the Son and I pray to Yehoshua (the Hebrew transliteration is Joshua) knowing He is YHVH, the One and only Creator and King of the Universe ❤

      2. I would suggest studying how Yehoshua has always been what ancient sages called Elohim’s “small face” and mankind has ALWAYS only had access to The Father through Him. This was not newly established in the new testament. I’m interested in your thoughts on this.

      3. I recently began appreciating the wisdom of the sages! Elohim’s “small face” is a very good figurative example of how our Spiritual Creator has ALWAYS made Himself accessible to mankind in a smaller way.

  12. Hope is that one day you would receive the two ‘keys’ which unlock much of that which is called scripture(“The Word of TRUTH”).

    The key to The Old Covenant, “ELOHIM said, “Let There be Light”, and there was Light”!

    “The Light”, The Word spoken into being, was “The Beginning of The Creation of Our ABBA and ELOHIM”!

    And destined to be born in “the likeness of sinful flesh” as Yahshua The Messiah! And when The Holy, Set Apart, SPIRIT that IS Our ABBA and ELOHIM entered into HIM as He was baptized by John, He was then Immanuel(The SPIRIT that IS ELOHIM with us IN The Messiah)!

    And the key that unlocks the New Covenant IS The Messiah DID “Come Again” and “QUICKLY” just as He prophesied, when the natural, earthly, temporal temple realm centered in old jerusalem was destroyed!

    HalleluYAH!

    Scriptural references are not needful for those who have “received a love of The TRUTH”, for The TRUTH has been “written on the fleshly tables of their heart”!

    And Thankfully, “The Peace that surpasses ALL understanding IS” in spite of the dis-ease(no-peace) that is of this evil world and/or religion’s way, except it be The Active Faith that IS The Only Pure Religion and Undefiled in this day and age……. francis

      It’s amazing how many people are beginning to seek the Only Pure Religion.

      I’m interested to know more about the second Key you mentioned, His second return? And why you wrote that Scriptural references are not needful?

  14. What a work the master is doing in you! I have been blessed as you shared your journey with the readers here. You put into words what many of us have struggled with over our lives in our search for God and his voice.
